Greenville is the “Hot Tomale Capital of the World”. Activity starts at the Greenville Inn and Suites but expands throughout downtown. Enjoy children’s fun in the square

Great Mississippi River Balloon Race - Natchez, MS - Oct 20 to Oct 21, 2023
Held at Rosalie Bicentennial Gardens, it features a carnival section with rides, games, and fun for all ages. Enjoy plenty of food. Local sports bars host college football on Saturday and the Saints football on Sunday. Also the exciting Balloon Race plus live music all weekend.

Cleveland Oktoberfest - Cleveland, MS - Oct 13 to Oct 14, 2023
More than 15,000 gather here every year for the event that has been called one of the best outdoor festivals in the Delta. It is organized by more than 100 community volunteers. While you are here, you will also be able to enjoy the Mississippi Delta State Barbecue Championship. The event kicks off on Friday afternoon, when the BBQ contest (featuring chefs from around the South) starts and they begin announcing some of the division winners. Live entertainment and dancing continue well into the evening. The antique car show and craft booths are on Saturday. Children’s activities include inflatables, face painting, rock climbing wall, train rides and more. So prepare for a weekend of pork barbecue, German brats, live music and fun. Since 1982.

Deep Blues Festival - Clarksdale, MS - Oct 12 to Oct 15, 2023
Visit Clarksdale for a weekend of blues. Tickets are just $75 for the weekend (Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights, plus Sunday afternoon) and gives you access to all shows at the New Roxy and the Shack Up Inn. There is plenty of free daytime music as well.

Bukka White Festival - Aberdeen, MS - Oct 7, 2023
Lots of arts and crafts, kid’s fun, animal show, antiques, classic cars and fantastic blues music. A tribute named after singer-guitarist Booker “Bukka” White who lived in the Aberdeen area.

Loblolly Festival - Laurel, MS - Oct 7, 2023
Annual event held the first Saturday in October. Get heritage with a small town feel with lots of artists, crafters, and craftmen set up downtown. Enjoy great food, funnel cake, and art judging.

Mississippi Peanut Festival - Collins, MS - Oct 7 to Oct 8, 2023
Mitchell Farms host this annual event. Includes over 75 vendors of yard art, jewelry, collectibles, antiques, arts, crafts, and a wide variety of food, plus pumpkin patch and a tour of a working farm with turn of the century antiques. There is also a fundraiser 5K raising funds for St Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Pilgrimage & Pioneer Day Festival - Carrollton, MS - Oct 7, 2023
Tour lots of historic homes, churches, and buildings in the area plus the J.Z. George Library. Enjoy live music, food, educational exhibits, traditional arts and crafts, and more at festival headquarters, 701 Lexington Street. Parking available on Washington Street or in front of the Courthouse.

Saint John Oktoberfest - Hattiesburg, MS - Oct 7, 2023
St. John Lutheran Church, with many of its church members descendants of German immigrants, has hosted this annual event for more than 40 years. It shares German food and culture with visitors to raise money for the church’s mission work. They offer German brats, sauerkraut, potato salad and other food for sale while guests listen to folk songs. There is also a silent auction, quilt raffle and deli featuring German meats and desserts.

Chili Festival and Fall Festival - Tupelo, MS - Oct 6 to Oct 7, 2023
Everyone’s favorite chili cook-off is back, and teams compete against each other in a number of prize categories, including best recipe, team spirit, best costumes, most creative tent and most original theme. Attendees can come at both lunch and dinner – tickets are sold at the gate upon entrance. You get to eat a bowl of delicious chili, then sample each team’s recipe, all before casting your vote for People’s Choice. As if that wasn’t enough, there’s beer and live music to make it the perfect Friday night! Saturday is Fall Festival, with a family fun day and free concert

Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival - Greenville, MS - Sep 16, 2023
The largest blues festival in the Delta and the oldest in the United States. Always held on the 3rd Saturday in September, it features both local and national blues artists. Started in 1977.

Bricks and Spokes - Vicksburg, MS - Oct 1, 2022

Canceled for 2022. Annual event at the Truck Crops Experiment Station. Lots of food, drink, and gardening fun with a 3 acre garden and over 5000 people attending.

Alcorn State University Jazz Festival - Vicksburg, MS - Oct 2, 2021
40th annual. Performances will be from school groups from throughout the SE and the MS Jazz Educators and Cassandra Wilson Group.

Walls Fall Festival - Walls, MS - Oct 19, 2019
Canceled for 2021, look for their return in 2022. Normally: There were 100 vendors in recent years. In addition to vendor and craft booths, there will be children’s inflatables and games, live musical entertainment, silent auction and various community exhibits from Fire, Police, Search and Rescue and more.
