Fall Potato Festivals

Whether its russets, reds, or even sweets, you’ll find a potato festival to wet your whistle this fall.

With Thanksgiving not far off, your taste buds may be turning to the sweet potato variety (although not really a potato at all) and the many delicious concoctions – pies to candied yams to sweet potato fries – you can relish from this humble tuber. There’s always a guarantee of great food at any potato festival so if potatoes happen to be one of your weaknesses, go ahead and have a day enjoying nothing but! There will also be crowning of kings, queens, and probably princesses, as well as a parade and plenty of music so bring the whole family to partake in the festivities.

Be sure to bring back a potato sack or two of your favorites to keep in cold storage over the winter months to enjoy when the mood strikes. Mashed, baked, or even scalloped, no one can resist the perfect potato dish, especially Mr. Potato Head.
