Vienna Oktoberfest - Vienna, VA - Oct 5, 2024
An annual event on the first Saturday in October from 11 AM to 7 PM. Oktoberfest drinks, food. Live entertainment on three stages including a main stage for music. Family friendly games and children’s activities will also be available. Hosted by the Vienna Business Association. Free admission and entertainment. Pay as you go. Location: Church Street, Vienna VA

Reston Holiday Parade - Reston, VA - Nov 24, 2023
Reston Town Center launches the season with the annual Reston Holiday Parade! The one-of-a-kind, one-hour, half-mile parade along Market Street also welcomes the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus in a horse-drawn carriage. Since 1991, rain or shine, the parade has been an annual tradition on the day after Thanksgiving. After the parade, enjoy Mini-Train rides until 4:30PM. The Clauses will return for the Fountain Square Tree Lighting at 6PM. Afterward, on Market Street, horse-drawn carriage rides continue from 6PM-10PM. Proceeds for the carriage rides benefit local charities. And don’t forget… the acclaimed Ice Skating Pavilion is open throughout the holidays.

Fairfax Turkey Trot - Fairfax, VA - Nov 23, 2023
Proceeds from the Fairfax Turkey Trot will be donated to Britepaths (formerly Our Daily Bread). For more than 30 years, Britepaths has provided help and hope to struggling residents in the Fairfax County area.

Holiday Lights at the Beach - Virginia Beach, VA - Nov 16 to Jan 1, 2024
The BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach is the perfect socially-distanced event to attend during this holiday season! Guests navigate their vehicles through holiday, nautical, and adventure-themed light displays on the Virginia Beach Boardwalk, listening on their radios to a soundtrack playing traditional holiday music. Festive fish, musical crabs, and hard-working elves – all in brightly colored lights against the moonlit Atlantic Ocean – are the stars of the BayPort Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach. They are joined by Santa taking off from the pier, a 40-foot tall dancing light Christmas tree, fish “swimming” overhead, color-changing archways, and light displays that honor the region’s strong Armed Forces community.

Bacon, Bourbon and Music Fest - Smithfield, VA - Nov 11, 2023

No admission fees to this pay-as-you-go walking festival. They close downtown for loads of vendors, crafts, foods and visitors, and yes, oysters! This is Virginia’s official oyster festival. Swine and Wine - Accomac, VA - Oct 21, 2023
As the name suggests there is plenty of swine at this event — in the form of tender, smoky pork barbecue, as well as smoked chicken. Guests get a true taste of a southern barbecue dinner with all the fixings, as the meal is accompanied by collard greens, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and coleslaw. A variety of wine and beer is available including vintages from local winery Chatham Vineyards. There is live music to keep guests entertained, and a silent auction features Eastern Shore art, golfing trips, fishing gear and many other items.

Bowling Green Harvest Festival - Bowling Green, VA - Oct 21, 2023
Vendors line Main Street while bands and community groups perform on the stage across from the courthouse. Kids can join in the fun with pumpkin painting, magicians, kiddie rides, petting zoo and games. Holly Point Art and Seafood Festival - Deltaville, VA - Oct 21, 2023
Wander through 60 vendors selling unique art creations and a car show. There will be a variety of seafood, festival food and beverages with live music throughout the festival day. Peruse the museum’s boat building and maritime exhibits, walk the nature trails donned with beautiful sculptures and fall leaves, step aboard the antique boats displayed on the water, take a creek cruise, and enjoy the children’s garden complete with a model trains. Bring your kayak or paddleboard and use the museum’s launch to explore the local marine life.

Elkton Autumn Days Arts and Crafts Festival - Elkton, VA - Oct 21 to Oct 22, 2023
The weekend will be filled with arts, crafts, music and food all in the heart of the Town of Elkton, VA nestled between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountain ranges in the Shenandoah Valley. The festival is free to attend and is located on West Spotswood Avenue in Downtown Elkton.

Stockley Gardens Fall Arts Festival - Norfolk, VA - Oct 21 to Oct 22, 2023
The Stockley Gardens Fall Arts Festival includes over 130 artists, featuring pieces in various media including painting, glass, sculpture, photography, and jewelry. Czech and Slovak Folklife Festival - Prince George, VA - Oct 21, 2023

Wade’s Mill Apple Butter Festival - Raphine, VA - Oct 21, 2023
They’ll be making apple butter the old-fashioned way, slow simmered in a 130+ year old copper pot over an open fire. Take a turn stirring with the long-handled paddle and take home a fresh jar. Explore Wade’s Mill’s three floors of historic milling equipment and museum displays to learn about the history and tradition of stone-ground milling in the Shenandoah Valley. Gordonsville Fried Chicken Festival - Gordonsville, VA - Oct 7, 2023
Gordonsville is famous for its fried chicken, which was served to passengers of trains stopping in town during the late 19th and early 20th centuries by local women carrying platters of the delicacy on their heads. Nationally-known at that time, Gordonsville’s fried chicken earned the town the nickname of “chicken-leg center of the universe”. To celebrate this legacy, this festival, held from 11 am – 5 pm at the Gordonsville Fire Company Fair Grounds, will feature a fried chicken and pie contest, wine garden, and numerous craft and artisan vendors. This is a rain or shine event!

The Annual Cedar Bluff Heritage Festival is always held the third Saturday in September. There is an exciting line-up of musical performances that will entertain festival goers beginning at 6pm on the preceeding Friday evening before the actual festival gets into full swing on Saturday. Be sure to stop in at the Cedar Bluff Fire Station on Cedar Valley Drive to catch great music, wonderful food and corn hole games. Don’t forget to bring a lawn chair. Each year the festival will highlight a theme. You will find antique dealers and food vendors among many other activities. The festival attracts thousands of visitors and hundreds of vendors each year.

Beaver Dam Farm Sunflower Festival - Buchanan, VA - Sep 9 to Sep 18, 2022
In 2016, 20 acres of black oil sunflowers were planted. As a result of the beautiful scenery, the fields were opened up for visitors to walk through and adore. Visitors also enjoyed hayrides, farm animals to pet, machinery to admire and food available. Today, the festival has widely expanded and still consists of hay wagon rides, a farm animal petting area and face painting. Over 65 unique hand made craft and food vendors have been added, along with photo booths, and live music. There is something to do for every age!

    The changing of the leaves, the cool crisp air, and hot apple cider seem to turn the fall into the season of festivals. Packed with hayrides, pumpkins, slides, making s’mores by the bonfire and more. Ticonderoga Farms is the place you want to visit for all the fun of fall this year.

    All our Fall Pumpkin Festival activities will be here for you and your family. Enjoy the great outdoors, the colors of fall and take a break from your busy schedules.

    The admission includes hayrides, activities and access to the pick your own pumpkin field. Don’t forget to get your own pie size pumpkin included with paid admission. Children under the age of 2 (23 months or younger) are free. Festival is Mid September to first week of November.

    Hours 9:00am—6:00pm

    Weekend Concession 9:30am to 4:30pm. Cash only.
