One ghost hunter declared Maine to be one of America’s most haunted states since every town and cemetery seems to have at least one good ghost story. So you should definitely consider attending one of these Maine ghost tours if you are in the area.

Here are the Maine ghost tours that I have found:

Cemetery tours offering stories of the lives of the residents of the graves (as well as one or two ghost stories) are also available.

Wicked Walking Tours - Portland, ME
A walking tour around Portland, Maine, for residents and cruise passengers that tells legendary pirate, witch and Indian stories from Portland’s history. It is an easy, half mile stroll by haunted places in the Old Port area. Cruise ship passengers are welcome to book tours, as the tours depart from near Portland Ocean Terminal and Ocean Gateway. Tours last 75 minutes or more. The cost is $19.99 for adults and $13.99 for children. Tours start in the park in front of Flatbread and Ri Ra.

Hi there. I’m a senior at USM and I’m looking for people who have had paranormal activities happen in their home, with compelling stories, to interview. It’s for my senior project, and it would need to take place either in Portland or greater Portland area. Of those who reply, I would choose one family to focus on, interview and recreate the story through reenactments for a 10 minute docudrama. If you or someone who know would be a good candidate, please email me. [email protected]
