Oktoberfest in Missouri 2024
There are a number of German beer festivals for Missouri residents to celebrate Oktoberfest from mid-September to mid-October in 2024. There will be beer, brats and oompah music close to home for many residents as the Show Me State attracts tens of thousands of people to some of the St. Louis and Kansas City Oktoberfest celebrations. If you live elsewhere, we hope that you find a festival near you that you can attend.
Still plenty of Oktoberfest parties running all the way up to November to enjoy, so Prost!

Maple Leaf Festival - Carthage, MO - Oct 13 to Oct 21, 2023
Annual event with 80,000+ visitors throughout the month. The premiere event, a parade, is one of the largest parades of the region, and takes place the 3rd Saturday of October. Other events occur throughout the month – see the event website for the brochure or interactive calender. Enjoy an oktoberfest, vendors, carnival, 5K/10K, pageants, dog show, lip-syncing competition, band festival, wine tasting, quilt show, live entertainment and more. Started as a Marching Band competition in 1966.

Jefferson City Oktoberfest - Jefferson City, MO - Sep 30, 2023
Celebrate Jefferson City’s German heritage with this fall festival. The annual Oktoberfest hosted by the Old Munichburg Association includes live music, dancers, beer/wine garden serving authentic food, demonstrations, kids games, hot rod/classic car show, dachshund costume contest and derby. They have expanded it to include Friday evening, with a German dinner hosted by the Central United Church of Christ and live music & beer garden on Washington Street. Excelsior Springs Oktoberfest - Excelsior Springs, MO - Sep 30, 2023
For 2023 – seems like more of a craft beer sample event than an Oktoberfest again this year, but it’s the closest we’re finding so we’re sharing. Normally: Crafters, vendors, and artists. Craft beers, barrel roll, bed racing competition, live entertainment and more!
Hermann Oktoberfest - Hermann, MO - Sep 29 to Oct 29, 2023
Weekends in Hermann have been packed with events for Missouri Oktoberfest seekers. The Hermannhof Festhalle on East First Street has wine, beer and brats. The German Bier Garten at Sesquicentennial Park on Gutenberg Street has food, beer and live music. Breweries, wineries and other clubs/locations have special events planned as well. The Arts & Crafts festival is on the second weekend of October. Public House Oktoberfest - Rolla, MO - Sep 23, 2023
Join them for the annual Public House Oktoberfest on Saturday. They will have a beer and wine tasting tent with many Missouri breweries and wineries. Plus, food vendors and live music too!
Oktoberfest in Cole Camp - Cole Camp, MO - Sep 23, 2023
Cole Camp, a historic town on the National Register of Historic Places, has been holding this event for more than ten years. It includes traditional German food and beer, gun show, bicycle tour and antique farm machinery displays (tractors and old engines). They also have a wine and beer tasting. The Prairie Day event, held at the same time, includes hayrides, nature exhibits, kids games, banjo concerts and star gazing in the evening.
Saint Charles Oktoberfest - Saint Charles, MO - Sep 22 to Sep 24, 2023
A family friendly festival to celebrate the community and German heritage. Local bands and German bands on the entertainment schedule. Wiener dog races, brat eating contest, parade, 5K and one mile fun run, and kids zone. No admission fee. The event is held at Frontier Park off Riverside Drive, located between the Historic Downtown District and the Missouri River. Location: 500 S Riverside Dr, Saint Charles, MO 63301. Since 1986.
Lee’s Summit Oktoberfest - Lee's Summit, MO - Sep 22 to Sep 23, 2023
70,000 are expected in Downtown Lee’s Summit for Oktoberfest to enjoy the German meals, three stages of entertainment, dancers, biergarten, carnival, arts and crafts. It has been held for more than 20 years. Contests include a home brew beer competition, wiener dog race and baby contest. Kids street has contests for kids, crafts such as pumpkin decorating, and free activities.

Please confirm dates, locations and activities available at the Oktoberfest before going. That's one reason that we provide a website address when we find one. We attempt to ensure that the information for each Oktoberfest is accurate but there are bound to be a few errors. If you let us know when you find one, we will fix it. In some cases, we may link to last year's event when information for this year is not yet available. Do not be fooled.
The festivals listed range in size. Some events may have hundreds of thousands of attendees. Others may have only a handful. We're sorry that we don't have more information about attendance numbers at the moment. We will do our best to add this information as time goes on.
Professionalism varies as well. Some Oktoberfests are professional operations with large budgets. Others are local operations run by volunteers. Do your due diligence before making plans to attend so that you know what to expect. We will happily publish information about your experience with any Oktoberfest so that our visitors will be better informed in the future.
Some Oktoberfests are more family friendly than others. If you have small children, look for an Oktoberfest that has activities for kids. Other events start out with family friendly activities and become more adult oriented as it becomes later in the evening.
Not all Oktoberfest celebrations will be authentic German festival experiences. Some may simply be an excuse to drink rather than celebrate German heritage. Some may call themselves Oktoberfest but provide local or seasonal beer rather than authentic German Oktoberfest beer. Be sure to consider the type of celebration that you are looking to attend when you pick your Oktoberfest.
Activities offered at each Oktoberfest varies. Some activities that you may find are parades, keg tapping ceremony, beer gardens, Miss Oktoberfest or costume contests, stein holding contests, bratwurst eating contest, chicken dance, wiener races, keg toss, live German bands and local entertainment, polka dancing and fairground games. Some Oktoberfest events will just have beer and brats.
Please don't drink and drive. We want everyone to get home safe. Use a designated driver or take public transportation. Uber and Lyft often offer ride credits for new users.

We have Oktoberfest each year the first four week-ends of October. We have several different kegs of oktoberfest beer and over 25 different bottles of German beers. Along with special german wursts and other dishes not on our regular german menu. We are located above Bridal cave on Thunder Mountain, with a view for miles of the Ozarks. There’s at least ten Oktoberfests in Missouri : You left off Jefferson City’s. This year it’s on Saturday the 29th (Yeah, in September, but close enough). I went to it in 2010 or 2011, mostly to watch the dachshund derby. They would pair off two dachshunds at a time to run against each other. At least 1/3 of the time, the “race” quickly disintegrated into a growling , snarling two-dog “dog ball” rolling around on the ground. Funny how bad temper and bad behavior is cute when the dog is small and adorable in appearance.

Well, I went to the Oktoberfest yesterday…It was hot, I got sunburned, and most disappointing of all-Not ONE dog fight in the weiner races! One dachshund went for another dog’s throat, but it was at the end of the race by the finish line, so humans quickly ended the fight before it even started. Dachshunds being well mannered and non violent-they hardly deserve to be called dachshunds. 🙁
Oh, there’s another Oktoberfest : Friday 10/12, in Boonville. I saw it advertised inside the Boonville Isle of Capri casino yesterday. I’m not sure if this is Boonville’s or just an Isle of Capri thing, but FWIW…..
You have left off the most popular Oktoberfest celebration in Southwest Missouri, the Erntefest in Friestatt, Mo.
This has been a staple celebration for almost 40 years. It’s very popular and many from all over Southwest Missouri attend, especially those with German heritage, of which there are many.
I’ve never been myself, but my entire family has attended and I’ve heard the stories. Interesting fact about Freistatt: There are more people in the cemetery than walking the streets! Hahahaha! But, when it’s time for Erntefest, this is the place to be.
