Dressel Farms - New Paltz, NY

In recent years, the family has expanded its operations with hard cider, under the Kettleborough Hard Cider label. Their farm stand has seasonally available produce, as well as homemade ice cream, honey and maple syrup. Later in the fall, they also have cider and cider donuts in the farm stand.

DuBois Farms - Highland, NY
David and Jolee DuBois purchased a 54 acre farm in 2002 to become first generation farmers. Their pick your own farm is open from mid-August until early November with picking of plums, tomatoes, apples, pears and pumpkins. They also have a 2 acre corn maze, farm animals, pony rides, farm market and bakery with delicious desserts including apple cider donuts and pies. They hold a variety of special events including Honey Crisp Hysteria Festival, the Apple Daze Festival and the Great Pumpkin Festival. The Tavern at Dubois offers local hard cider, wines and craft beers. They are expanding and have planted Christmas trees and more fruit trees and strawberries, something to look forward to in coming years.

Dykeman Farm - Pawling, NY

Hurd’s Family Farm - Modena, NY
Pick your own apples as summer winds into fall, and pick your own pumpkins as fall begins. In December, they have six different varieties of Christmas trees for you to select as well, mostly cut your own (with a limited amount of precut trees available). Jenkins-Lueken Orchards - New Paltz, NY

Kelkenberg Farm of Akron - Akron, NY
Enjoy the horse drawn hayrides and pick your own pumpkins off the vine from a 3.5 acre section of their 15 acre pumpkin field. Also a five acre cornfield maze, self guided farm animal tour and kids’ pony rides. Pumpkin picking starts the last weekend in September and happens every weekend in October plus Columbus Day. Kelkenberg Farm of Clarence - Clarence Center, NY
A real livestock and horse farm that has been welcoming visitors for more than thirty years. It will open to the public around the middle of September. It will be open Friday through Sunday in October, plus Columbus Day. Admission is $10 and includes any pumpkin from the u-pick pumpkin patch, horse drawn hayride, farm tour, straw maze and pony ride for kids. Kelly’s Fruit Farm - Hilton, NY

Masker Orchards - Warwick, NY
Pick your own apples from 14 varieties growing on 200 acres. They also offer a family-friendly haunted house, apple maze, face painting, live music (most weekends) as well as a pumpkin patch (beginning mid-September), all located near the Family Fun Area near the red barns. Pick your own apples from dwarf trees growing over 25 varieties between early August and late October, plus berries earlier in the year and pumpkins later in the fall. They also have a “Rent-a-Tree” program that gives you exclusive rights to the produce of a single tree for the year, giving you tons of apples to make your own treats throughout the season. They are closed Sunday but the orchard is open the rest of the week. They offer jams and jellies and other treats. They also have a corn maze, haywagon rides, and more activities.

Milk Pail - Water Mill, NY
A local staple that is family owned and operated. U-pick apple orchard and pumpkin field Friday through Sunday in September and October beginning Labor Day. More than 20 apple varieties available for picking – and they are grown on dwarf trees, making it easy to pick no matter your height. They have more than 60 different varieties of pumpkins and gourds. Their apple cider and donuts garner a lot of praise in reviews.

Minard Farms - Clintondale, NY
The farm is open weekends from late August through November 1st. They feature a snack bar, picnic area, apple cider, donuts, wagon rides, and lots of pumpkins, apples, peaches, strawberries and more fruit on about 100 acres of land. The address is 250 Hurds Road, Clintondale, NY 12515. It is about 9 miles west of Poughkeepsie.

Morgan’s Farm Market - Marion, NY
A multi-generation working family farm for more than 50 years. Pick your own apples available in October. They grow a wide variety of apples, but not all varieties are available for picking, the rest are available pre-picked in the market. There are also pick your own pumpkins available in October. Family fun day on the Saturday of Columbus day weekend includes tractor pulled wagon rides, pony rides, bin maze for kids, and Alpaca’s Maple Cotton Candy or Candy Apples. Located thirty minutes east of Rochester.

Murphy Orchards - Burt, NY
A former stop on the Underground Railroad, this farm offers pick-your-own options for each fruit and vegetable they grow, including apples (the earliest varieties begin in early August) and pumpkins (beginning early October). The gift shop in the barn is filled with jams and jellies, gift baskets, and more, and the barn also hosts an Underground Railroad museum.

North Star Orchards - Westmoreland, NY
Beginning in late September, take a wagon ride through the orchards and pick your own apples. Pumpkins are available beginning in late September, with wagon rides out to the pumpkin patch as well. They have fresh apple cider donuts, pies, cookies, and other baked goods, as well as apple cider and concord grape juice each fall. The farm market offers local honey and maple syrup, local jams and jellies, NYS cheeses, and more, as well as Christmas trees, garlands, and other decorations in December.

Ochs Orchard - Warwick, NY
Pick your own apples (beginning in early September) and pumpkins (mid-to-late September), and other produce throughout the season. at this fourth generation family farm. The farm market has prepicked farm and local produce as well as preserves, butters, honey, maple syrup, and local eggs. Beginning in late summer, they also have apple cider and fresh baked cider donuts available (although they recommend calling to check availability).

Ontario Orchards - Oswego, NY
Pick your own apples and pumpkins, plus take a spin through the corn maze or a ride on the hayride and enjoy cider and other treats. The address is 7735 State Route 104, Oswego, NY 13126. It is about 40 miles north of Syracuse.

Outhouse Orchards - North Salem, NY
Enjoy this northern Westchester Orchard starting in early September, when you can pre-pay for your apple bag and search the orchard for your favorite apples. PYO pumpkins, corn maze and hayrides also available at the orchard. Founded as a dairy farm in the late 1800s by their great grandfather, the family started growing crops in the 1900s.

Pawlowsky Family Farm - Great Valley, NY
Also known as Pumpkinville this 200 acre Western New York farm near Elcottville has 25 acres of fun for visitors. It includes a pick your own pumpkin patch, hayrides, 6 acre corn maze. Take a hayride around the farm. Other activities include gem mining, goat mountain, cow train and corn cannon. Get lost in the six acre corn maze and you might just find all of the hidden posts. Try their sweet and spiced apple cider from their 100+ year old antique cider mill built in 1898. Helicopter rides weather permitting on October weekends. Prospect Hill Orchard - Milton, NY
The apple orchard at Prospect Hill is about 15 acres of dwarf apple trees, with a picnic spot by the pond, offering about a dozen varieties of apples. They also offer pears and a pumpkin patch, so you can pick a gourd for decoration, jack o lanterns, or pie. Take a tractor pulled hayride around the orchard, or get a little lost in the corn maze. Use the old-fashioned cider press to make your own cider.

Queen’s Botanical Garden - Flushing, NY
Their one day Harvest Fest and Pumpkin Patch happens in the middle of October.  It lets kids select and decorate a pumpkin. Kids can also plant seeds and get their face painted. For adults, there is barbecue, live music and workshops/tours. The address is 43-50 Main Street, Flushing, NY 11355. It is about 2 miles from downtown Queens.

Queen’s County Farm Museum - Floral Park, NY
They have a small field where you can pick pre-cut pumpkins. Other activities include hayrides, three acre corn maze and petting zoo. They also host an apple festival, children’s fall festival and haunted house on specific days.  The farm is located at 73-50 Little Neck Parkway, Floral Park, NY 11004. It is about 12 driving miles east of downtown Queens.

Rogers Family Orchard - Johnstown, NY
Pick your own apples, plus they have apple cider, cider donuts, pumpkins, a corn maze, hayride, and other fall fun.

Rose Hill Farm - Red Hook, NY
Rose Hill Farm was established in 1812, on land purchased by the original owner in 1798, and was the only fruit farm among the state’s ten Bicentennial Family Farms in 2001, six generations later. After transitioning to a pick-your-own apple farm about twenty years ago, other produce was added for the pick your own, including berries, peaches, and pumpkins. They also have cider donuts and pie, apple cider, farm fresh eggs and more.

Rulfs Orchard - Peru, NY
Pick your own berries, tomotoes, apples and pumpkins. On weekends, they run wagon rides out to the pumpkin patch. The farm store is open yearround and stocks apples, fresh apple cider, fresh cider donuts and pies, and their own honey, as well as locally made goodies. In December, they have precut Christmas trees, wreaths and more. They also offer a variety of children’s activities, including a petting zoo.

Samascott Orchards - Kinderhook, NY
In addition to fruits and vegetables of all sorts, you can pick your own apples (from July through November) and pumpkins (September and October). The Farm Stand offers fresh produce, homemade cider and cider donuts, local honey and maple syrup, and more. They make sweet cider in apple, pear, and apple-strawberry (seasonal) varieties. The Garden Market, which they bought in 2005, offers greenhouse grown produce, herbs, and flowers, but also offers a 7 acre corn maze with a different design each year.

Sand Flats Orchards - Fonda, NY
Pick your own or prepicked apples through September and October. They offer apple cider, cider donuts, pies, kettle corn and other treats. Pick up mums, pumpkins, and gourds at the farm stand as well. Take a tractor ride, try not to get lost in the corn maze, have a picnic, and see farm animals.

Schmitt Family Farms - Dix Hills, NY
CBS 2 New York declared it one of the 7 best places for pumpkin picking in NY, NJ and Connecticut. In addition to the pumpkin field, there are hayrides, a pumpkin bounce house, haunted maze, haunted house, and trike play area. They also have roasted corn and apple cider. The pumpkin patch is open everyday starting around the middle of September through October 31st. The address is 6 Bagatelle Road, Dix Hills, NY 11746. It is about 31 miles east of Queens.

Soons Orchard - New Hampton, NY
Five acres of apple trees. They have dwarf apple trees to make picking easier for kids and adults. Apples are generally available from Labor Day until sometime after Columbus Day, depending on supply, demand and weather. Pumpkins are available beginning in mid-September – there is a hay wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch. Fresh pressed apple cider is available starting in mid-September, with a tasting room available for their hard ciders. The farm market also has apple cider donuts, pies, pre-picked produce, locally made honey, preserves, and more. The u-pick orchard is a one minute drive from the store and pumpkin patch. Conveniently located between Goshen and Middletown about 65 miles northwest of NYC.

Stakey’s Pumpkin Farm - Aquebogue, NY
All 26 acres of pumpkin picking straight off the vine. All you can carry pumpkins. The farm has been selling pumpkins since 1976. Hayrides past the maze and around the patch. Kids’ Korner has face painting, bounce house and pony rides. Three acre cornfield maze with trivia game. Country Store has fall decorations and toys for kids. Stop by the Snack Shack for a meal or enjoy an ear of roasted corn. The address is 270 West Lane, Aquebogue, NY. It is about 18 miles east of Southampton, NY.

Stanton’s Feura Farm - Feura Bush, NY
On weekends in September and October, pick your own pumpkins and apples (15 varieties), plus take a spin through the hay and corn mazes, or a hayride. Enjoy a fresh apple cider donut, apple cider and other treats.

Stokoe Farms - Scottsville, NY
The pumpkin patch is open Saturdays and Sundays in October. Take a wagon ride to the patch where you can pick your pumpkins off the vine. Other activities include the corn maze, farm animals and straw fort with slide. The address is 656 South Road, Scottsville, NY 14546. It is about 19 miles southwest of Rochester.

Stuarts Farm - Granite Springs, NY
Pick your own pumpkins off the vine in October at this 200 acre Westchester County farm. It has been in the Stuart family since 1828. They also have nine varieties of apples for picking. The address is 62 Granite Springs Road, Granite Springs, NY 10527. It is about 47 miles north of downtown Manhattan, New York.

Suffolk County Farm - Yaphank, NY
The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County hosts a Pumpkinfest in late September with wagon rides, corn maze, pumpkin picking and pumpkin decorating. They also hold an annual pumpkin catapult contest called the Pumpkin Fling Pumpkinfest runs early October and Pumpkin Fling happens in October. The address is 350 Yaphank Avenue, Yaphank, NY 11980. It is located 53 miles east of Queens.

Tantillos Farm - Gardiner, NY
An orchard and farm market with pick your own pumpkins, cherries, and apples. They also feature a bakery and ice cream stand. The address is 730 State Route 208, Gardiner, NY 12525. It is about 15 miles west of Poughkeepsie.

The Great Pumpkin Farm - Clarence, NY
Have fun with pre-picked pumpkins, horse drawn wagon rides, corn maze, amusement rides, petting zoo, hay maze and playground. Talent contests, photo contests and various other competitions like pumpkin decorating, pie eating and scarecrow making. Lots of special events on weekends like the Zombie Mud Run, Oinktoberfest BBQ Cookoff, Pumpkin Special Olympics and World Pumpkin Weigh Off. Special exotic animal zoo and pony rides available during select festival weekends. Open daily from around the middle of September through  October 31st. During non-holiday weekdays, there is no admission charge. Admission for festival weekends is $8 per person. Attractions are priced individually. The Hollow - Syracuse, NY
Fifteen acres of pumpkin in their u-pick patch. Visit with the farm animals, get lost in the corn maze or take a wagon ride around the patch. Kids can jump on the hay mound, play in the corn bin or get free face painting on weekends. Open weekends in September and daily in October. The address is 3735 W. Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY. It is about 7 miles southwest of downtown Syracuse.

Tucker Farms - Gabriels, NY
A family owned and operated potato farm with pumpkin patch and corn maze located 15 minutes from Saranac Lake and 20 minutes north of Lake Placid. Home of the Great Adirondack Corn Maze for more than 10 years. Wagon ride tours of the pumpkin patch. The address is 112 Hobart Road, Gabriels, NY.  All new “America in Space” corn maze opens around the middle of August.

Wallkill View Farm Market - New Paltz, NY
They are open every day in October with a corn maze, pumpkin picking, hay bale tunnel, Halloween décor, and fall vegetables. They also have a bakery, garden center, and market onsite. On weekends they have a free hay ride, free apple cider, and pumpkin decorating. The address is 15 Route 299 West, New Paltz, NY 12561. It is about 13 miles west of Poughkeepsie.

Weed Orchards - Marlboro, NY
A fun farm with hayrides, petting zoo, picnic area, Pirates of the Hudson Corn Maze, weekend barbeque, hay maze, and weekend entertainment. They features lots of pick your own apples, pumpkins, and fruit. On weekends they special events like their Salsa Festival, Peach Festival, Fall Festival, Harvest Festival, Apple Festival, Pumpkin Festival, and Halloween Festival. Their address is 43 Mount Zion Road, Marlboro, NY 12542. It is about 12 miles southwest of Poughkeepsie.

Westwind Orchards - Accord, NY
Pick your own apples from eight varieties between September and October. They also have pears and pumpkins available in the fall, with berries available earlier in the season. The farmstand sells many farmmade items including honey, jams, maple syrups, and more, plus artisanal items, both local and from around the world. The also have italian food offerings, as well as hard cider, beer and wine.

Wheatfield Pumpkin Farm - Wheatfield, NY
Pumpkin patch opens in late September. Family fun pass admission for $6 includes regular hayride, mini-corn maze and play area. They also do haunted hayrides on weekends and the week of Halloween in late October. The address is 6920 Nash Rd., Wheatfield, NY 14120. It is just 18 miles north of Buffalo.

White Post Farm - Melville, NY
The animal farm is open 7 days a week this fall.  A fifth generation family farm in Huntington since 1886. On weekends fall festival has precut pumpkins in their pumpkin patch, animal farm petting zoo, hayrides and kids bounce park. The address is 250 Old Country Road, Melville, NY. It is about 27 miles east of Queens.

Whittier Fruit Farm - Rochester, NY
A family owned and operated farm by the Russell family since 1974. Thirty-two varieties of PYO apples sold by the pound. No ladders necessary – they are easy to pick! Tractor and wagon rides take guests to the pumpkin patch on weekends in October. Both pick your own apples and pumpkins are sold by the pound, and are also available pre-picked in the farm market

Wickham Farm - Penfield, NY
What began as a roadside pumpkin patch in 1988 has grown, with the addition of a corn maze, a heated barn to serve as a store, apple orchard, barnyard fun area, and more. There are two corn mazes, one family sized and one giant corn maze (over 5 acres), both of which open in August. The apple orchard has 13 varieties over 5,000 trees, with availability between mid-August and late October. The purchase of an apple bag includes a hayride tour for every member of your party. The pumpkin patch features thousands of various orange pumpkins, which are available for a flat rate regardless of size. The store offers a variety of hot and cold food, fresh pressed apple cider, cider donuts (daily in the fall) and other baked goods, apples from the orchard, and more. This bicentennial farm offers 300 acres, with pick your own apples, berries, peaches, pumpkins and more. They make fresh cider donuts from Monday through Saturday, and their cider is made on a 1902 cider press, the oldest on Long Island. They also sell farmmade pies, jams and other preserves, fudge, and other local goodies.

Wilkens Farm - Yorktown Heights, NY
This fruit and fir (Christmas Trees) farm has pick your own apples, corn maze and pumpkins in the fall. It is open daily from late August through the middle of December for farm harvest. The address is 1335 White Hill Road, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598. It is about 47 miles north of New York City.

This sixth generation farm offers pick your own apples each fall, with 13 varieties available over the season, and pumpkin picking as well. There are hayrides out to the orchard as well. Wright Family Farm - Warwick, NY
Fall fun starts in early September.  They have pick your own pumpkins, a hayride, corn maze, and Christmas trees. They are generally open every day in October. Their address is 329 Kings Highway, Warwick, NY. It is about 60 miles north of New York City.

Yonder Fruit Farms - Valatie, NY
Pick your own apples and pumpkins (with other produce available throughout the year) plus mums and apple cider.

Liberty Ridge Farm – Schaghticoke, NY.  A 100 acres of fall fun with 20 farm activities. Pumpkins can be picked from their patch or purchased pre-picked from the Farm Market. Find your way through the corn maze or right handed pumpkin maze. Some of the other activities available are the pumpkin cannon, pig races, cow train, jumping pillow and barnyard games. Fall season begins around the middle of September and runs until the second weekend in November 11. Special events are held every weekend. Closed on Mondays except Columbus Day and Veterans Day. Five haunted attractions including haunted house, haunted hayride and haunted corn maze. It is available every Friday and Saturday night in October and Sunday night before Columbus Day.  Their address is 29 Bevis Road, Schaghticoke, NY.  It is about 25 miles north of Albany.

Pick a Pumpkin Pumpkin Patch – Esperance, NY.  A pick your own pumpkin patch run by the VanDerwerken family for more than 25 years.  Featured are hayrides, corn maze, farm animals, cider donuts, pedal carts, pumpkin cannon, hay tunnel, frisbee golf and four story tree house.  Cash or check only. Closed on Sundays. Special event: 5K/2K Mud Run.  They are open daily and closed Sundays starting the last weekend in September through October 31st.  The address is 2716 Creek Rd., Esperance, NY 12066.  It is about 38 miles west of Albany.

Ellms Family Farm – Ballston Spa, NY.  Fall Festival starts Saturday, September 19th at this Saratoga County farm. They have a wide variety of pumpkins of different sizes, shapes and colors in their pick your own patch. Try some of their fresh baked homemade apple cider donuts. The large corn maze takes approximately 90 minutes to complete and solve the interactive maze puzzle. Two small mazes are available that take 15-20 minutes to complete and are perfect for families with young kids. Moonlight maze available for one special weekend in mid-to-late October. Other available activities include the jumping pillow, slides, corn kernel box, cow wagon ride, tractor tire jump, sandbox, trolley rides, farm animals, pedal carts, corn cannon, tetherball and obstacle course, among other options. Evening Halloween hayrides on Friday and Saturday nights designed for kids of all ages, with a stop midway through for cider and donuts.  The address is 448 Charlton Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.  It is located 32 miles north of Albany.

Engelke Farm – Troy, NY.  A family owned and operated fruit and vegetable farm with pick your own pumpkin patch, hayride, zip line, corn maze and haunted hayrides in the fall.  The farm is located at 463 Garfield Rd, Troy, NY 12180.  It is about 12 miles northeast of Albany.
