San Francisco Bay Area Haunted Houses for Halloween 2024

San Francisco haunted houses are some of the largest in the United States.  Expect a great scary night out with your spouse, date, or friends.  Enjoy being terrified at these haunted attractions.  For the price of a Giants ticket you can be part of the action as you come face to face with terror.  Most use animatronics, great props, Hollywood sets, and live actors with makeup beyond belief.  You will be frightened.  Find all the haunted houses near me, trails, corn mazes, hayrides, and Halloween fun attractions in the San Francisco area including the cities of San Leandro, Santa Clara, San Jose, Vallejo, and Pleasanton.

Blind Scream - Santa Rosa, CA
Opens starting October 1st for scary fun.  Blind Scream operates at the Santa Rosa Plaza. It runs starting at 7:00 pm and closes at 11:00 pm on Friday and Saturday. This years attractions include walk through outdoor mazes Blackout, and the all new attractions Uncle Chuckle’s 3D Mad House, plus the new haunted house Slaughter Shack.  Check web page for additional dates.  It runs about 12 dates in October.

Dead Time Dreams - Santa Clara County, CA
Open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday beginning in early October.  Tickets are available for Dead Time Dreams. It features the twisted maze Meat Factory and the zombie apocalypse haunt The Church. There is also a midway of terror wait area with freaks, creatures and shows each night. Doors open at 7:00 pm. Doors close 11:00 pm weekdays and 12:00 am weekends. They have free parking.  Also open some added dates Halloween week. No longer do you stand waiting in line, now you have a whole Midway of Terror to entertain you even before entering the two attractions. This year, the experience will be a whole detailed pre-show that gets the mood or was it blood flowing, even before you go facing the dark passageways of horrors. See the Freaks and Creatures that have never been seen before, special nightly shows that are different happenings each night, The Midway of Terror is a dark and intense experience which is better than most haunted attractions you will have ever experienced before!

Diablo Escapes - Walnut Creek, CA
This escape room in Walnut Creek has 2 virtual reality haunted experiences as part of their year around entertainment. Both are suitable for most guests 10 and up. The house may be virtual, but the fear is very real! Hospital of Horror is a frightfully creepy VR experience that allows you and your friends to explore an abandoned hospital. Not for the timid! Allow 20 minutes for this fun experience. Manor of Escape is a full, 45-minute VR Escape Room. Do you dare enter the mad scientist’s mansion? He has opened a portal to an alternate dimension—releasing dangerous monsters—and your group must stop him! A free-roaming eerie escape room for 2-6 people.

Fear Overload - San Leandro, CA
The fun begins in late September.  The three haunts at Fear Overload are Night Terrors and The Tooth Collector, plus Live Horror Entertainment.  A high shock attraction with horrifying scenes about San Francisco’s grisliest serial killer. You Psychotic takes you into a labyrinth experience through the paranormal. Are you next? Costumes can be worn but leave the face paint and mask at home. Doors are open at 7:00 pm until 12:00 am on most Friday and Saturday nights or 10:00 pm on other nights. Caution this is a very scary haunt with some of these for very mature audiences only. They are open nearly every day in October.  Runs most nights from late September through early November.  Check their web page for schedule.

Fox Hollow - Sunnyvale, CA
Opens late October.  Over the years they have grown bit by bit and they expanded from one yard to two, creating a path that winds through two yards with many experiences including the original cemetery (evolved), pirate grotto, swamp, haunted forest, mad science lab and spider lair. Every year some things change and some stay the same. The haunt has gotten bigger, smaller and then bigger again. It is always an adventure to create this haunt along with our friends who volunteer to build and act in the haunt. We invite you to come enjoy our haunt with us!

Great America’s Halloween Haunt - Santa Clara, CA
The amusement park Great America operates a Halloween haunt called Tricks and Treats on Friday, Saturday, and most Sunday nights. The haunt runs starting select dates beginning September 23rd from 7 pm to midnight. The regular park is open Saturday and Sunday in October from 10 am to 5:30 pm. There are several days and nights that are family friendly including Snoopy’s Trick or Treating. Check website advance ticket prices. There are separate lands for kids Halloween and more adult scares.

Halloween at Hobb’s Grove - Sanger, CA
Hobb’s Grove opens in late September and runs every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  They feature a haunted house, forest, and hayride.  The classic fantastic HAYRIDE, the eerie trek through the Haunted FOREST and the trip through time in this year’s Hobb HOUSE are as fun and frightful as ever.  The Midway at Hobb’s Grove has an old-time feel and features warming fire pits, peddlers and entertainment. It’s a somewhat “safe” place to hang out for those who wish to be frightened no more and it’s simply the best people watching anywhere. There’s music, including our own Malice Cooper, and characters milling about making sure you feel welcome and you must come in and check out The Curiosity Shoppe.

Halloween Horror at Boomers - Modesto, CA
Boomers park is open August, September, and October 2022 generally Wednesday through Sunday with some dates until 10 PM. They do not appear to have separate Halloween or Haunt attractions this year. Yet they are an amazing place for entertainment fun.

Lemos Farm - Half Moon Bay, CA
During September and October our farm turns into Halloween Palooza covered in hay, spooky cutouts, and pumpkins with our most popular Halloween attractions, the Haunted House and Ghost Train! With two different versions of the Haunted House, (non-scary and scary) it’s fun for everyone! But you’ve been warned, the second version will scare the YELL out of ya!  Lemos Farm has lots to offer with pumpkins, haunted house, ghost train, Christmas tree, fall family fun, laser tag, and so much more.

Pastorino Farms - Half Moon Bay, CA
Pastorino’s offers a retail nursery year round for plants, cut flowers, and gifts. In addition, Pastorino’s offers a friendly environment for birthday parties and corporate events among our fresh flower fields and plant greenhouses.  During the month of October, Pastorino’s offers a seasonal pumpkin farm. Our pumpkin farm offers beautiful gifts, food, children’s activities, (hay rides, train rides, ponies, pet and feed farm animals, giant slides and jumpers). In addition, on the weekends we also offer a haunted house and face painting. And of course a field of pumpkins to choose from.

Piedmont Avenue Pumpkin Patch - Oakland, CA
Piedmont Avenue has both a scary haunted house and a non scary attraction.  This farm has lots of entertainment options.  They have lots of pumpkins and Halloween fun.  They run every day in September and October.  Enter their haunted house through the hallway with moving portraits on the wall. A cold shudder trickles down your spine. Glancing around nervously, a monstrous voice seemingly penetrates your very being. Through the darkness you believe you see eerie shadows on the walls. As you walk forward, you can’t help but feel that someone is following you. Wait… is that coffin lid rising?? You move along, then , you turn the corner and see a crib. What is happening? The voice in your head says ‘Turn Back!’ Yet, you push on.

Pirates of Emerson - Pleasanton, CA
The season begins in late September.  The attractions are walk through. Located at the Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pirates of Emerson is a full entertainment complex. It has run for 32 years and now features 5 haunt attractions.  Included is live music, dancing, and entry into Pirates of Emerson, Laboragory, Holiday Horror, The Hackshack, and Dark Gauntlet. The times are 7:05 pm to 11 pm most nights.  Open most Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in October plus some added dates.  Check web page for details.

Pumpkin Maze Dellosso Family Farm - Lathrop, CA
Pumpkin Maze returns in 2022. They are open every day in October. Tickets start at $18.95 during the week.  They feature a Haunted Castle but they have several corn mazes, zip lines, pumpkin maze, hay rides, and farm fun during the day.

Ranch of Horror - Turlock, CA
Ranch of Horror has lots of scary attractions.  Generally open every weekend in Ocotber. Begin with the free hay maze.  The haunted house is House of Dystropia.  Their zombie outbreak is Rancher’s Revenge.  They have a Ghost Busting House on the midway and an escape room called Jail Break.  A popular event is Zombie Shooter.  Also try their premium Paintball Zombie Escape.  Get these and more at the Turlock FEARgrounds.

Rebel Yell - San Jose, CA
Rebel Yell is open beginning October 22nd.  Check Facebook page for schedule.  In 1957, when Doctor Von Braun purchased the abandoned Rebel Hill Funeral Home and moved there with his wife and two children, no one could have guessed the depths of his evil genius. His family is long gone now, but his research continues. As you walk through the rooms of this old house on your way to the Doctor’s lab, expect to see ghosts, corpses, skeletons, zombies, and a bit of blood. And prepare yourself for a uniquely chilling experience. They have a new laser attraction for 2022.

Winchester Mystery House Fright Nights - San Jose, CA
The Unhinged begins for 13 nights starting September 30th.  An all new presentation features Unhinged Nightshades as a maze through this ancient house.  Roam the halls and take the tour.  Get your tickets early as they are likely to sell out.  Note Winchester Mystery House runs a number of scary mystery dinners throughout the year.  Unhinged and Fright Nights are just their Halloween presentations.  Check out this haunt for year around entertainment.
