Of course, Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek and started off or inspired all of the six TV series, and most of the movies as well. Series are Star Trek: The Original, Star Trek: TNG, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and the last one — Enterprise (which didn’t have the word Star Trek in the title. In addition, there was an animated series. There are eleven movies, many dozens of games, a decade-long attraction in Las Vegas (now closed), and hundreds of books. On the road, fans can see a couple of traveling exhibits when they are on tour. Br />

The Star Trek franchise is a significant cultural phenomenon that began with a television series in 1966 and has since expanded to include multiple TV spin-offs and a series of films. As of my knowledge cut-off in September 2021, there have been thirteen Star Trek films. The first six feature the original series' characters: "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" (1979) reunites the crew of the USS Enterprise to face a powerful alien entity; "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" (1982) brings back an old adversary and delves into themes of aging and revenge; "Star Trek III: The Search for Spock" (1984) explores the aftermath of Spock's death and rebirth; "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home" (1986) adds elements of time travel and environmentalism; "Star Trek V: The Final Frontier" (1989) explores the limits of the Final Frontier; and "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country" (1991) addresses peace and Cold War allegories. The next four films revolve around characters from The Next Generation, including "Star Trek: Generations" (1994), which provides a narrative bridge between the two generations of characters. The latest three films, known as the Kelvin timeline, reboot the original series with a younger cast and alternate timeline, starting with "Star Trek" (2009), "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013), and "Star Trek Beyond" (2016).

When it comes to Star Trek costume ideas, there is a vast array of options given the franchise's expansive universe and its broad array of species and affiliations. One could choose to dress as a member of Starfleet, selecting one of the iconic uniform styles across different eras, and determining their role based on the color of their shirt - red for operations, blue for science, and gold for command in the original series, with the colors switching for command and operations in later series. Alternately, one could choose to represent one of Star Trek's numerous alien species, such as a Vulcan, complete with pointed ears and a logical demeanor, or a Klingon, requiring more elaborate makeup and warrior attire. Other notable options include dressing as an android like Data, a Borg drone, or a member of the elusive Q Continuum.

Star Trek offers many group and couples costume ideas. For a group, dressing up as the crew of a particular Starship, like the USS Enterprise or USS Voyager, can be an excellent choice. Each person can choose a role: Captain, First Officer, Science Officer, Engineer, Doctor, Communications Officer, or Security. A couple could opt to dress up as iconic duos from the series, such as Captain Kirk and Spock, Riker and Troi, or even adversarial pairings like Picard and Q. For a twist, a couple could decide to portray a Starfleet officer and an alien species, like a Klingon or Romulan, or dress up as characters from opposing factions, such as Starfleet and the Borg Collective.

Creating an authentic Star Trek costume requires several specific accessories. For a Starfleet officer, the uniform, complete with rank insignia and a communicator badge, is crucial. Other potential accessories could include a phaser or tricorder. For those choosing to dress as a Vulcan, pointed ears would be a must, while Klingons would require forehead ridges and possibly a Bat'leth or Disruptor as weapons. For a Borg costume, one might need various cybernetic enhancements, while dressing as a member of the Q Continuum could be as simple or complex as desired, given Q's ability to alter his appearance at will.
