Mackinac Bridge Walk - Mackinaw City, MI
09/04/2023

Walk across the bridge from either St Ignace or Mackinaw City! Each year, between 25,000-60,000 people from across Michigan and beyond come to walk the Mackinac Bridge, the 5th longest suspension bridge in the world and the longest suspension bridge in the Western Hemisphere, at a total length of 26,372 feet (suspension length of 8,614 feet). The bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic, so walkers are encouraged to a) walk halfway across and then back b) walk all the way across and have a ride arranged to go back or c) walk all the way across and all the way back, about 10 miles (must cross the midway point by 10am to go all the way across the bridge). A fun fourth option could be a daytrip to Mackinac Island and taking the farry back to your origin point! The Mackinac Bridge Authority has recently declined to close the bridge for other events, so this is your chance to cross the Mighty Mac” without your car!”
