2024 Festivals

Germania Society Oktoberfest - Cincinnati, OH - Aug 23 to Aug 25, 2024
This Oktoberfest features traditional German food, live German music all weekend, dancing, and fun for the whole family. Adults and kids alike will enjoy the traditional beer mug-sliding contest, as well as steinholding (Masskrugstemmen) competitions. Kids can frolic on our playground and amuse themselves with FREE interactive inflatable attractions. They also offer for sale a wide variety of imported German merchandise and gifts, including Steins, Trachten, and more. $5 per person at the gate. FREE admission for children 12 and younger, and for Veterans with current ID. Free offsite parking and shuttle from: Pleasant Run Middle School, Vinoklet Winery and Elda Elementary School. All day, non-refundable on-site parking spot pass can be purchased online for $5. Hours for 2022: Friday: 6pm-11pm. Saturday: 2pm-11pm. Sunday: 12pm-7pm. Cleveland Oktoberfest - Middleburg Heights, OH - Aug 30 to Sep 7, 2024
This Cleveland Oktoberfest happens annually over Labor Day weekend for 10+ years. Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr beer will be served in addition to several other beers in the International Beer Garden Free parking with the option for paid VIP parking. Celebrity keg tapping. Oktoberfest Microbrew Competition and wiener dog races. Glockenspiel routines on the hour. The finals of the Miss Oktoberfest contest and the masskrugstemmen (one arm stein holding) contest. 5K Beer Run. Vendors in the Bavarian Shopping Village will offer for sale beer steins, German merchandise and other items. Children’s activity area includes inflatables, hay rides, arts & crafts, sand castle building, gingerbread house classes and The Frisch Marionette Company (a puppet show that has been featured in People Magazine and on Showtime). Admission to the festival is $10 per person with children under 12 receiving free admission. Location: Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds

Columbus Oktoberfest - Columbus, OH - Sep 6 to Sep 8, 2024
Hosted under the historic pavilions of the Ohio Expo Center. Friday night Brat Trot and keg tapping. Contests include stein hoisting and Bavarian yodeling. Food, beer, live music and dancers. Kids Kinderplatz features family friendly activities for your children. Location: 717 E 17th Ave Columbus, OH 43211

Oktoberfest Zinzinnati - Cincinnati, OH - Sep 19 to Sep 22, 2024
This Cincinnati Oktoberfest is the largest in the United States with over 500,000 visitors a year. Six blocks in downtown Cincinnati are closed for the weekend. Started in 1976, you can enjoy the festivities including the Running of the Wieners and the World’s Largest Chicken Dance. The Opening Ceremony will be on Saturday at 11:30 AM at Fountain Square.

Cuyahoga Falls Oktoberfest - Cuyahoga Falls, OH - Sep 20 to Sep 17, 2023
There will be several local breweries serving each of their Oktoberfest brews as well as one or two of their other specialty craft styles! There will be quite a variety of local craft and artisan booths where you can purchase German and Oktoberfest themed t-shirts,  candles, comic-book collage art, handmade jewelry and more! There will also be German food, German games, German, Polka, ‘uhmp-pa-pa’ bands, a strolling accordion player and German dancers.  Other entertainment includes Face Painting by Claire, other local country/rock/cover bands a popcorn eating contest and FIREWORKS!! Free admission, free parking and free entertainment. Since 1979.

Dayton Oktoberfest - Dayton, OH - Sep 27 to Sep 29, 2024
The Dayton Art Institute has hosted this German festival in Dayton for over 40 years. Craft beer, home brew contest, live music on two stages and family friendly kids activities. Preview party takes place on Friday from 7 to 11 PM for those who are 21+ with complimentary beer, wine and live entertainment. Ticket purchase to Preview Party is recommended as space is limited. Minster Oktoberfest - Minster, OH - Oct 4 to Oct 6, 2024
In recent years, over 80,000 have attended this Oktoberfest on the first Sunday in October. Live German music, German food, parade, Miss Oktoberfest Pageant, arts & crafts, jug hoist, beer tray relay, 10k run and other fun.

Uptown Scrooge - Westerville, OH - Dec 1 to Dec 22, 2024
Uptown Scrooge is a theatrical performance spectacle that utilizes innovative storytelling, improvisation, music, and audience interaction to share the story of Charles Dickens’ The Christmas Carol. Guided through the streets and shops of historic Uptown Westerville by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, audience members go on Scrooge’s journey, experiencing the magic and wonder of his holiday adventure first-hand. Winterfest and Tree Lighting Ceremony - Cleveland, OH - Nov 25, 2023
Opening weekend has free, family-friendly festivities begin at 4 p.m., with a lighting ceremony and fireworks starting at 6 p.m. The event will include musical performances and appearances from Santa Claus, live and interactive visual-arts demonstrations, skating, carriage rides, food trucks, fire pits and more. Macy’s Light Up the Square: Fountain Square Tree Lighting - Cincinnati, OH - Nov 24, 2023
Festivities will begin at 5p with live music and a special appearance by Santa Claus and continuing into the evening with a dazzling fireworks display.

Thanksgiving Polka Party Weekend - Independence, OH - Nov 24 to Nov 25, 2023

Legendary Lights of Clifton Mill - Clifton, OH - Nov 24 to Dec 30, 2023
Over 4 million lights illuminating the mill, the gorge, the riverbanks, trees and bridges. There is even a 100 foot “waterfall” of twinkling lights. The flip of one switch turns all the lights on at once transforming night into a fantastical winter wonderland which includes a Miniature Village, a Santa Claus Museum , a Toy Collection and a spectacular synchronized lights and music show that features the old Covered Bridge.

Help husk, shell and grind the corn, make handmade cornhusk dolls and paint pumpkins (additional fee). Little farmers can pedal their way on mini tractors through the farm maze on the Pedal Tractor Overlook. They can navigate the hay maze and play in the kid’s areas. Explore the three-acre corn maze, enjoy harvest-themed crafts and other harvest activities including cooking demonstrations. Experience Farmpark with popular activities including cow milking, wagon rides, ice cream making, equine activities, border collie sheep herding demonstrations, plus meet a variety of farm animals. Visitors man also enjoy Showman’s Circle, featuring a farm-themed playground, water feature and live animal demonstrations. Corn & Pumpkin Festival is included with regular Farmpark admission/membership. Children younger than two and Farmpark members get in free.

Ohio Swiss Festival - Sugarcreek, OH - Sep 28 to Sep 30, 2023
Everything Swiss from cheese to alphorns, singers and plenty of polka. Kid’s Big Wheel Race, People’s Choice Swiss Cheese Judging and Eating Contest, Swiss Cheese Auction, Festival Queen, Marching Band, Kiddies Parade, 5K & 10K runs, Antique Car Parade, Steinstossen competition and more. Taking place each year on the 4th weekend in September, events usually begin on Thursday, with the main festival on Saturday and Sunday.

Chili Cook-Off Festival and Hoopla Parade - Urbana, OH - Sep 23, 2023
Join the festivities which will include sampling contestant’s chili, a cornhole tournament, jalapeno eating contest, dunk tank, and the “suck, chew, and blow” contest.The Parade, featuring the Antioch Shriners, begins at 12:00 pm, live entertainment with live entertainment at 1:30 pm and chili sampling at 2:00 . A variety of food and craft vendors fill the streets – a day of fun for the entire family! The event is free, but, there is a fee for entering the competition.

Mason Oktoberfest is happening at Sonder Brewing, with breweries from all around Ohio coming together for an awesome festival, with German beers, festive food, activities, and music! Entry is free, but you can pre purchase a VIP package, including a Mason Oktoberfest 16 oz beer stein and one beer ticket. The event offers entertainment to view and in which to participate with fun challenges such as beer stein holding contests, Hammerschlagen (a German word that roughly translates into “to beat with a hammer” or “hammer striking”), barrel rolling, and many more games with great prizes to the winners.

Chatham Apple Butter Festival - Spencer, OH - Oct 12 to Oct 13, 2019
A boiling cauldron of apple butter, continuously stirred by volunteers over an open fire, is still the main feature of the fun-filled event. This year free activities for children and music on both days of the festival will join delicious home-made food, crafts, baked goods and gift baskets. Country store, community organizations and other vendors, and arts and crafts marketplace. There is no admission charge. Free parking is available on both sides of Route 83 — behind the Memorial Hall pavilion and north of the Chatham Community Center.

    Please don’t forget the South Vienna Corn Festival! Located in the village of South Vienna right off rte. 40 the weekend after Labor day. Food, rides, crafts, entertainment, and of course SWEET CORN! Parade on Saturday and a queens pageant as well. Kiddie tractor pull. Great fun for the kids and parents as well!

    Columbia Station, OH – September 6th, 2016 – For over 25 years, the Rockin’-R-Ranch in Columbia Station, Ohio has been entertaining people of all ages. Rockin’-R-Ranch host two distinct events during October, The Old West Pumpkin Fun Fest (daytime event) every Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00pm and Spooky Ranch is held Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights in the month of October.

    At the Old West Pumpkin Fun Fest, toddlers adolescents, young families and Grandma’s and Grandpa’s can’t wait to see the fabulous Country Kids’ Show performed live on stage featuring costume characters that your child would love. The Live musical show is performed four times a day. This is an interactive show for the kids where they can dance and play instruments. Take as many hayrides as you want on the Pumpkin Patch Hayride trail that takes you into the Pumpkin Patch and pick and paint your own pumpkins. The whole family can walk through the New 3-D House, enjoy the Pumpkin Slide, have fun on the activity area, Explore the Old West Town, Adventure Gem Mining, New Duck Pond, pet the animals at the Petting Farm, get your face painted and much more. Where can you go and ride ponies all day long at no extra charge? There is a farm market, souvenir shop and concession stands for food and drinks. French fries, apple cider, funnel cakes, hot dogs, sausage and cotton candy available.

    In the evening, the fun turns frightening, entertaining, funny and very high- tech as Spooky Ranch opens at 7:00pm until 9:30pm on Thursdays and Sundays and from 7:00pm to 11:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays. “Spooky Ranch, “Cleveland’s Premiere Haunted Event is a Halloween spectacle that shouldn’t be missed. Rockin’-R-Ranch takes haunted houses to a new level with Spooky Ranch. We compromise of 5 themed attractions, The Famous Haunted Hayride, The Haunted Barn, the New Blood Slingers Saloon Haunted house, New Monster Visions in 3-D Haunted House and Extreme Nightmares Haunted House.

    It began over twenty-five years ago with the “Famous Haunted Hayride.” The ride attracts everyone including families, couples and teenagers. We are the only Halloween, Haunted attraction that is family friendly. Most other Haunted events can be objectionable and vulgar. Our event is professional and Hollywood Hi- tech. When we take you through the “Haunted Barn”, we have a captive audience on the wagon. The production is an awesome, hi-tech surprise. Customers are clapping and screaming as the tractor exits the Haunted Barn. This is not like other Haunted Houses.
