The Kaysinger Bluff Pioneer Heritage Association presents a living history experience through the demonstration of more than seventy 17th to 19th century crafts, trades and lifestyles of the early pioneers. At Harry S. Truman Visitor Center and throughout the wooded trails of Kaysinger Bluff in Warsaw, Missouri you’ll visit the Hooper House, the Concord School House and an 1850’s pioneer homestead and discover which dwelling once housed Frank and Jesse James for a night. Be sure to spend some time at the Civil War and Mountain Man Camps. As you stroll the trails you will find a variety of entertainment on the stage of the Trailside Theater and on the porches of the early American homes. There is lots of bluegrass singin’, fiddlin’ and storytellin’. Throughout the village you will smell the aroma of foods cooking on open fires. Satisfy your hunger at several spots along the trail that feature foods from back in the day as well as kid friendly foods. Take your pick from biscuits and sausage gravy, beef or pork sandwiches, roasted corn, fried pies, turkey legs, shaved ice, hamburgers, hot dogs and much more. This celebration has two primary locations; Kaysinger Bluff (Harry S Truman Visitor Center) and Drake Harbor in Downtown Warsaw. The modern celebration downtown is brought to you by the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce and the City of Warsaw. The event fee is $7.00 for adults, $4.00 for ages 6-12 and children 5 and under are free.
