Fall Cheese Festivals
You don’t need to live in Wisconsin anymore to be a true cheese head! Artisan cheese makers and their festivals are springing up all over the country so if cheese is what pleases you – find a nearby celebration and get in on the tasting. This is the year to go to a fall Cheese Festivals!
The actual art of cheese making dates back thousands of years and can be an interesting process to learn about for the unfamiliar. Often paired with a local winery tasting, cheese festivals can be a relaxing and delicious way to spend an afternoon as a couple or with friends. You’ll hear all about the nuances of aging and the different flavor subtleties between various goat cheeses. Smoked cheeses, fruit and herb flavored cheeses, as well as traditional selections like cheddar will certainly be available. If you’re lucky there might even be a cheesecake cook off to sample.
Whatever you do be sure to bring along a cooler to transport home those delicious wedges you’ll end up purchasing.
