This farm used to be called Carroll’s but it was purchased three years ago by Bill Owen and the name changed to Uncle Bill’s Farm. Same family values-just a different name. They officially open Pumpkin Season the middle of September and runs October with both their pumpkin patch and corn maze. Admission on weekdays is $9 per person. Weekends admission is $12. Children under the age of three are admitted free. Week day school tours available by reservation. Parking is always free. Admission includes access to the playground, Big Orange Jumping pillow, picnic area, corn pit, trike ride area, pumpkin patch, gift shop, fast food restaurant, weekend magic and puppet shows in the Big Barn loft, weekend amusement rides (cow train, electric train, jump house), hourly wagon rides to the field (weather conditions permitting-prior to 5 pm each day.) They’ve added real bathrooms (instead of porta-johns), a greenhouse for year round plant sales, a swamp themed kettle corn kitchen, and a farm themed children’s book shop. Folks can take a wagon ride to the field to pick their own pumpkins or pick one from the green house at .49 cents a pound. We also have decorative gourds, mini pumpkin, corn shocks and fall mums for sale. The address is 244 400th Ave., Grinnell, IA 50112. It is about 52 miles east of Des Moines.
