Wabash Street Caves - Saint Paul, MN

Mines were dug into the sandstone below Minneapolis in the 1800s. The mines served as speakeasies during Prohibition. You can explore the history of the mines through a variety of seasonal and year round tours including their cave tour and their gangster tour. The USA Today recognized this tour for offering a unique way to discover the secrets of the city. In October, they offer two special tours. The Ghosts & Graves Tour guides you on a one hour ride around St. Paul offering tales of murder, ghost sightings and a local cemetery. You can also combine the Ghosts & Graves tour with an exploration of their haunted cave in the Caves & Graves tour. The cave tour is a walking tour that explores the history of the 150 year old mines. Learn the history of the caves, hear the stories of mobster massacres and ghost sightings. The last Sunday of the month, they also do a Lost Souls Tour where you can hear about the haunted sightings in the cave and you might just see a ghost!
