Come to the Oakland Public Library to make sugar skulls (calaveras) with Model Magic and decorate them. Celebrated at several different branches including the Main Library, West Oakland, Cesar E Chavez, and Eastmont.
Start out in the Children’s Room of the Main Library and walk through the library in your costume! Visit different parts of the library to get treats and learn more about what the library offers!
Parade around San Pablo Park in your favorite costume, compete in the costume contest, try to keep up in the freeze dance, eat food and get goodie bags! Everyone should wear a costume – even the grown-ups!
