Things to Do in New York City in September, October 2017

Fall in New York is unlike any other season. The air starts to turn crisp, and it’s the perfect time to experience all the festivals and fall fun that the Big Apple has to offer before the holiday rush begins in November.

Apple Bin Farm Market - Ulster Park, NY
Pick your own apples. They also have pumpkins and Christmas trees, in addition to other produce. They are popular with the local community for their breakfast sandwiches, as well as offering apple and pear cider and fresh cider donuts, plus other baked goods. They also have local honey and maple syrup, locally made coffee, preserves, gifts, and more.

They offer more than 20 varieties of apples, plus tractor-pulled hay rides, farm animals, corn maze, honey bee observation hives, and more. They make their own fresh pressed apple cider, fresh baked cider donuts, plus apple butter, preserves and more. It is located at 101 Jessup Road, Warwick, NY 10990. It is located about 50 miles southwest of Poughkeepsie.

Fort Totten Park Haunted Lantern Tour - New York, NY
Annual event in October. This free lantern-led walking tour of the Water Battery is open to all who wish to explore this piece of American history. No registration is required and a tram service from the parking lot to tour location is provided. Participants must arrive no later than 8:00 p.m. on select date for guaranteed admittance.
