The Medina Lake Cajun Festival started in 1981 as the Great Gumbo Cookoff, which over time became larger, received state and national recognition, and added more activities. Enjoy Cajun food, Cajun bands from all around Louisiana, dancing, and the ever popular gumbo cookoff.
