AHH-CHOOO!!! Tis the season!

When we pulled the hearse out today from its covered carport for a cleaning before tonights tour, we found that Mother Nature had given her such a coat of pollen that it looked like it might have just left the spooky carriage house of Lord Grimleys Manor!

BTW, we still have two seats left for tonights 8:30 Spirits on the River Tour. And tomorrows Haunted Graveyard Tour is full, but seats are available for Spirits on the River!

Dark Ride Tours, LLCBTW, we love the masks at Lord Grimley's Manor. You should check them out. Very spooky! We're thinking this character might be a good substitute driver when Charon is out. What do you think?

Follow-up to our mysterious object photographed by one of our guests on a Spirits on the River tour: the daytime photo shows a corner of landscaping timbers that at night, under the right conditions, resembles a dog, cat, or small bear.

This situation demonstrates the idea of matrixing or pareidolia, which is the tendency the human brain has to make familiar patterns or objects out of something that may not be easily identifiable.

Some psychologists and anthropologists suggest that it may have been a defense mechanism back in early human history when it was very important for possible threats to be quickly identified, even if inaccurately. A suspicious pattern of shadows in a leafy environment might be interpreted as a saber-tooth tiger, the biggest threat, as to trigger flight in order to avoid the danger.

This phenomenon might explain how some people can see the figure of Jesus in a burnt piece of toast, angels in the clouds, or ghosts in mirrors and windows.

But then again, whos to say these images arent sometimes the real deal? What do you think?
