The first official fair was held in Washington Hollow in 1842, and over time has fought through unlucky weather, war and the Depression, and more. Today, the largest agricultural 6-day fair in New York State has a physical plant that is the recognized as one of the most beautiful in the country. The fair showcases agriculture, horticulture, historical objects and ways of life, arts and crafts, culinary contests, marketplace, concessions, live entertainment, a grandstand, rides and more.
