Our list of fall festivals in New York has an impressive number of fall and harvest festivals. Once you have finished Oktoberfest in NY, your task will be to choose which festival you would like to attend next. From looking at the list, it seems like almost every community wants to get in the act with a September and October festival. So you should be able to find one in 2016 that is convenient to your location without too much trouble.

The Great New York State Fair – Syracuse, NY – August 25 – September 5, 2016
An annual event with nearly a million visitors attend one of this nations great state fairs. Always plenty of entertainment on seven stages plus lots of competitions, crafts, food, and fun. Also a full carnival midway and rides.
New York State Festival of Balloons – Dansville, NY – September 1-5, 2016
Over 35,000 attend this festival starting with the free balloon GLOW on Thursday night. Festival has six scheduled balloon launches, international food court, free entertainment, rides and amusements, car show, and craft vendors.
Electric Zoo – Randall’s Island Park, NYC – September 2-4, 2016
Wild and exciting fun with lots of music and lighting bringing energy to large crowds.
NYC Unicycle Festival – Sept 2-4, 2016
Enjoy 3 days of one wheel madness. See public shows, a learn to ride area, unicycle hockey, unicycle basketbal, a trails course and workshops. See some of the country’s top competitors, mountain and off road riders and circus performers in action.
National Buffalo Wing Festival – Buffalo, NY -Sept 3-4, 2016
Top chefs and over 70,000 visitors have journeyed to Coca-Cola Field in Buffalo for this annual food event. Lots of food and competitions based around chicken wings. Children 8 and under are free.
Tugboat Roundup – Waterford, NY – Sept 9-11, 2016
A free event for the whole family with lots of tugboat demonstrations and rides, plus face painting, puppet show, food, crafts, pony rides, and Saturday night fireworks.
Red, White & Blues Festival – Fredonia, NY – Sept 9-10, 2016
Rocking 2 day music festival plus a celebration of local wineries. Lots of bands and a variety of popular music.
Saratoga Wine & Food Festival – Saratoga – Sept 9-11, 2016
Monroe Cheese Festival – Monroe, NY – September 10, 2016

Mohawk Valley Garlic & Herb Festival – Little Falls, NY – September 10, 2016

M & T Bank Clothesline Festival – Rochester, NY – Sept 10-11, 2016

Rochester Fringe Festival – Sept 15-24, 2016
Ten days with over 500 performances attended by over 60,000 people make this a popular annual event. Festival has theatre, music, dance, children’s entertainment, visual arts and lots more.
Feast of San Gennaro – NYC, NY – Sept 15-25, 2016
Held in Little Italy on the streets of lower Manhattan. An annual event for over 90 years dedicated to keeping alive the spirit and faith of the early Italian immigrants.
Irish 2000 Festival Ballston Spa, NY – Sept 16-17, 2016
Plenty of Irish music on the stages of the Saratoga County Fairgrounds. Features Galic Storm and on Saturday night a big fireworks spectacular. See singers, pipers, and dancers plus Celtic Kids.

Harbor Island International Beer Festival – Mamaroneck, New York – September 24, 2016
The annual Harbor Island International Beer Festival. Event includes apple everything with kids activities, great food, crafts, wagon rides, and gift shop. See demonstrations of cider pressing, blacksmithing, cooking, spinning, candle dipping and live music and dance fun.
Warwick Applefest – Warwick, NY – October 2, 2016
Over 35,000 attend Applefest each year. Local papers describes it as the “Best Family Event of the Year”. They have live entertainment on 4 stages, a carnival, over 200 craft and art vendors, pony rides, children’s activities, and lots of food choices based around apples.

NY Craft Brewers Festival – Syracuse, NY – Nov 19, 2016
Held 4PM-8PM at the Landmark Theatre. Sample foods and over beers from over 50 NYS breweries.
