Silicon Valley Comic Con - San Jose, CA - Aug 16 to Aug 18, 2019
2019 celebrity guests include Jason Momoa, Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie, Oliver and James Phelps, and more – subject to availability (see event website for details). Silicon Valley Comic Con brings together America’s two greatest superheroes: Pop Culture and Technology. Presented by Steve Wozniak and featuring top celebrities, comics, independent artists, cosplay, video games, consumer electronics, and more. Silicon Valley Comic Con is where entertainment and our electronic worlds intersect. Children under 5 get in free, child and adult passes are available for a day or the whole weekend, and there are several VIP tiers available.

California Republic Comic Con - Merced, CA - Sep 14, 2019
Each CRCC show is filled with film and TV stars, artists, comic books, toys, games, everything science fiction, fantasy, and anime, as well as video games, music, live entertainment, food, and much more. Kids 10 and under are free. Individual tickets are $10 online ($15 at the door) and a family 4-pack is available online only for $35.

Monterey Bay Oktoberfest - Carmel, CA - Sep 14, 2019
Noon – 6 PM. Tickets are $20. Children under 12 are free. Under the Beer Garden Tent. Activities include cracking the first keg, live music, beer stein holding contest, Miss Oktoberfest 2018 contest and Miss Jr. Oktoberfest 2018 contest.

SD WhoCon - San Diego, CA - Oct 4 to Oct 6, 2019
2019 theme is “WHOdunnit?” – a weekend of the delving into the mysteries presented in the Doctor Who series, plus panels, celebrity guests, fan film festival and more! Event is outdoors and open to the general public. 11 AM to 5 PM on Saturday hours with live music from Steppin Out, Mean Gene Band and The Spaces Between. 11 AM to 4 PM on Sunday with the second annual Battle of the Bands and a BBQ competition with tasting. Kids area on Saturday and Sunday has pony rides, face painting, bounce house, petting zoo and mechanical rides. There’s also arts and crafts booths and the Dave Dana Memorial car show.

Alpine Village Oktoberfest - Torrance, CA - Sep 7 to Oct 27, 2018
Southern California has been celebrating Oktoberfest at Alpine Village for nearly 50 years. USA Today named it one of the best Oktoberfests in the world. It is held on seven weekends in September and October in a 32,000 square foot tent. Located in Torrance, it is the most popular Los Angeles Oktoberfest. Tables are on a first come first served basis – there are no reservations. It’s 21+ on Friday and Saturday but all ages are welcome on Sunday. Tickets are between $5 and $20 depending on day. Kids 12 and under as well as those dressed in dirndls or lederhosen get in free on Sundays.

Oktoberfest at the Phoenix Club - Anaheim, CA - Sep 21 to Oct 28, 2018
Friday-Sunday starting September 16. The Phoenix Club will host seven weekends of Oktoberfest fun starting Friday, September 16th and concluding Sunday, October 30th. Live music, imported German beer on tap, beer drinking and sausage eating contests, costume contest, polka lessons and kids activities including a bounce house. Admission for adults is $5. 18 and under are free.

Placerville Oktoberfest - Placerville, CA - Sep 22, 2018
This annual Oktoberfest features German music including polkas and the chicken dance. Keg is tapped at 3 PM. Weiner dog races and other Oktoberfest contests. Food choices include sausages, sauerkraut, strudel, and of course lots of beer choices.

Julie’s Alps Oktoberfest - Newbury Park, CA - Sep 26 to Oct 25, 2018
Polka bands, traditional German fare and brews. Wednesday night is Murder at the Alps, an Oktoberfest themed murder mystery dinner. Thursday is Rockoberfest, so come to rock out. Ocean Beach Oktoberfest - San Diego, CA - Oct 12 to Oct 13, 2018
The annual Ocean Beach Oktoberfest. This two-day eclectic, beachside festival will include a variety of exciting activities, contests and entertainment with proceeds benefiting local non-profit organizations. The event will kick off at 3:30 Friday afternoon with live music in the 21 and older beer garden. There will be a 2 for 1 happy hour Friday from 4:30 to 6:01. The Saturday morning festivities will kick off early with a Drill instructor workout on the beach, followed at 9 a.m. with the fifth annual OB Brat Trot, a fundraiser sponsored by the Ocean Beach Community Foundation with proceeds going towards local youth sports. All ages are invited to participate; registration is $25 per family (up to 6 participants) for the 2K Family Fun Run at 9 a.m. and $30 per person for the 5K Beach Run to follow at 10 a.m. Registration for the 5K Beach Run includes free entrance into the beer garden and two complimentary beers for runners 21 and older. New to the event this year, there will be a German microbrew tasting benefiting the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station. The special tastings dubbed Poured with Courage will be served by active and retired wounded service members on behalf of the Warrior Foundation Freedom Station, which will share in the proceeds. Tasting tickets are $30 and will be sold online at www.OBOktoberfest.com prior to the event and at the gate as long as they last. Saturday will also include a free beachside all-ages stage with performances by an OB Oktoberfest band, along with a food and craft vendor area on the Veterans Plaza lawn. Beer garden entertainment will include live music; the annual Sausage Toss Competition for a $1,000 cash prize; and bratwurst-eating, stein-holding and other competitions.
