Louisburg Ciderfest - Louisburg, KS - Sep 29 to Oct 7, 2018
40th annual. Louisburg Cider Mill has good old fashioned apple cider fun for two weekends every autumn. It is always held on the last weekend in September and the first weekend in October. There is no admission or parking fees to attend Ciderfest. Activities begin with the pancake breakfast and continue with pony rides, inflatable slide, cider and donut-making and craft booths until 6 pm. You can also take part in all their normal fall activities, like their 10 acre corn maze and their PYO pumpkin patch (admission fee may apply).

It is a community event sponsored by The Church of the Blessed Sacrament Men’s Club. It is an outdoor event taking place on Quentin Street. Enjoy beer, bratwurst and music while in the beer garden. Children can enjoy the inflatables, rides and games. Musical lineup features multiple bands. Rosstoberfest 5K kicks off the event and there is also a one mile fun run. Bid in the silent auction or live auction to win fun prizes. $11 wrist band for all you can ride amusement rides. $5 cover charge after 7 PM. Complete dinner plate is $7.50, with ala carte brats available in the beer garden for $2.50.

A morning of fun for the whole family at City Hall, presented by the Shawnee Downtown Partnership. This free event includes scarecrow making, pumpkin decorating, a Farmers Market and seasonal displays. Supplies and decorations will be provided at no cost. Downtown Shawnee will be transformed as businesses and merchants participate in a scarecrow contest. There is also a baking contest for chefs.

This year is the 100th year since it’s inception and the 60th anniversary of the current format, so come celebrate the Neewollah Diamond Jubilee with the Addams Family Musical and more, including a pageant, parades, marching band contest, carnival, medallion hunt, chili cook-off, 5/10K & fun run/walk, and more. Wondering about the name? Look at it backwards! That’s right, Neewollah is Halloween backwards, and this festival began in 1919 as an effort to provide fun and positive activities for residents of Independence to enjoy in place of pranks traditionally occurring around Halloween. It continued until it was interrupted by the Great Depression and World War II, but it was revived and enhanced in 1958 as a three day festival, and has continued to grow since! It’s now a ten day celebration filled with fun for all ages, so come on down and enjoy!
