The annual Sewickley Oktoberfest with Spaten beer and live music. German food includes bratwurst, kielbasa, and pulled pork sandwiches, potato pancakes, pretzel knots and more! Cash only event. Chicken dancing and contests at the Saturday (day) session. Adults are $10. Ages 13-20 are $5 to the Saturday day session (kids 12 and under free). Friday and Saturday night sessions are ages 21 and up only. All access pass to all three sessions is $20. VIP Package to one session is $30. Sewickley is located west of Pittsburgh.

The Alpine Wurst & Meat House is located in the Poconos region of Northeast Pennsylvania. It has been known for its delicious German sausages and other meats for more than thirty years. Kick off the Oktoberfest season under the Tent for a three day weekend in August that happens annually. Enjoy beer, food, dancing and live music under the Tent that seats more than 1,000 people. They also offer other events in fall for visitors to enjoy the German-American cuisine, including the Fall Schlachtfest Buffet at the end of October and the Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner in November.

Pocono Garlic Festival - Shawnee, PA - Sep 2 to Sep 3, 2017
35 garlic stations of food to try at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area. 10 AM to 6 PM. Advance ticket sales are from May until early September. Arts & crafts, entertainment, garlic eating contest, chopped garlic cooking competition and children’s area with petting zoo and more entertainment.

Polish American Festival - Doylestown, PA - Sep 2 to Sep 10, 2017
The 51st annual festival runs from noon to 8 PM on Sept 3-5 and 10-11.  Admission is $12 per person, which includes unlimited midway rides but not extreme rides.  Crafter’s Village will have handmade items such as jewelry, quilts, dolls, toys, bags, children’s clothes and decorations.  Polish and American food including Pierogi, Potato Placki, Grilled Kielbasa, and Golabki.  Two stages of entertainment with live music, dancing and more.

Boyertown Oktoberfest - Boyertown, PA - Sep 15 to Sep 16, 2017
9th annual event. Highlights include German music, dancers, beer, food, crafts and artwork. Runs Friday from 5 to 9 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM. The mayor’s keg tapping will occur at 11 AM. It takes place at the Town Center Parking Lot behind the first block of East Philadelphia Ave. Parking is available on several local streets and lots. Anticipated attendance is approximately 5,000 people. Rain date is Sunday. This annual event on the third weekend in September is a fundraiser for Building a Better Boyertown. BBB is a nonprofit organization formed in 2002 to promote the community, preserve its historical heritage and attract people.

Pennsylvania Bavarian Oktoberfest - Canonsburg, PA - Sep 15 to Sep 17, 2017
18th annual event in Downtown Canonsburg with free admission. Tens of thousands attend every year. It will have German food, beer, live music, Name the Brew contest and Carnival with games and amusement rides. Ride All Day amusement passes are available. Vendors setup along Pike Street. On the two stages for music and dancing performances, you’ll see SNPJ Button Box, Alpen Schuhplattler, Frank Paolombi Band, Augsburg Band, the Bill Ali Band, Ruff Creek, Kenny Blake Trio, Steeltown Band, Dancing Queen, Joel Lindsey and Sugarcane! It runs Friday from 4 PM to 11 PM, Saturday from 11 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday from noon to 6 PM. Pets are not permitted in the festival area. In the past, there has been free parking and a free shuttle service from the Pennsylvania Transformer Technologies lot at 30 Curry Avenue because there is no designated parking from the event within the downtown area.

Hofbrauhaus Pittsburgh Oktoberfest - Pittsburgh, PA - Sep 15 to Sep 23, 2017
Two weekends of German fun at the Hofbrauhaus Oktoberfest at the Southside Works in Pittsburgh. Imported Munich Oktoberfest bier, entertainment and prizes. Hofbrauhaus was started in Germany at the request of Wilhelm V, the Duke of Bavaria. The brewery provided food and drink at the wedding celebration in 1810. The Pittsburgh location was the third opened in America – behind the Cincinnati/NKY region and Las Vegas. It opened in 2009 in the Southside Works, the $300 million entertainment, shopping, office and residential complex that opened across the Monongahela River.

Brauhaus Schmitz Oktoberfest - Philadelphia, PA - Sep 16, 2017
This German bierhall and restaurant celebrates all week long. On Saturday it sponsors the annual Philadelphia Oktoberfest Block Party from noon to 8 PM. A 200 foot long tent will be erected on the 700 block of South Street. Live oompah music, ceremonial keg tapping and liter lift competition will accompany the German beer and sausage.

This Bethlehem Oktoberfest on the first two weekends in October is a traditional German Oktoberfest with Pennsylvania influence. There will be a giant festhalle tent with German food, beer and bands playing polka, rock and party music. More than 2,000 participate in the 5K. Dancers, dachshund races, bar skills challenge, decorative beer barrel competition, Miss Oktoberfest contest, rides and games too! Admission is free this year!

The day’s events include three local bands, a magician, a juggler, a face painter and many, MANY varieties of chili, along with many supporting vendors. Not to mention Good food and beverage concessions too! Come out and help us exceed the $65,000 raised for local nonprofits last year!
