Duke’s OceanFest - Honolulu, HI - Aug 15 to Aug 25, 2019
Duke’s OceanFest features a variety of ocean sports close to Duke Kahanamoku’s heart, including Longboard Surfing, Paddleboard Racing, Swimming, Tandem Surfing, Surf Polo, Beach Volleyball, and Stand-Up Paddling. The annual festival, held on the shores of Waikiki in August, celebrates Duke Kahanamoku’s life, his athletic contributions and his spirit that continues to live on.
Great Waikiki Beer Festival - Honolulu, HI - Aug 24, 2019
Enjoy over 100 different seasonal, local and craft brews plus a selection of cocktails, wine, and sake, while listening to live music and noshing. A portion of proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Ohana. 21+ event held on the Great Lawn in front of Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon.

Kaua’i Mokihana Festival - Waimea, HI - Sep 22 to Sep 28, 2019
A week-long celebration of Hawaiian culture. A variety of events are planned including music and hula competitions. The festival started in 1984 as the Kaua’i Composers Contest and Concert, put on by the musical group Malie with a grant from thhe Hasegawa Komuten Relations Board, and has grown into a week-long festival that aims to educate, promote, preserve, and perpetuate the Hawaiian culture for all people.
HawaiiCon - Kahaluu-Keauhou CDP, HI - Sep 26 to Sep 29, 2019

HawaiiCon serves as the annual inclusive gathering of science fiction fans, comic book enthusiasts, creative cosplayers, anime followers, avid gamers, future-envisioning authors, cultural practitioners, Geek-film featurette film makers, comic and fantasy artists, authors, screen writers and Hollywood’s science fiction producers, voice actors, and movie/television stars, along with vendors, musicians, teachers, students, scientists, and popular culture & science fiction scholars. In support of their mission, Hawaiicon also hosts the co-located Pacific-Basin STEAM Teaching Conference and the Science Fiction, Popular Cultures Academic Conference.

Matsuri Kauai - Lihue, HI - Oct 18 to Oct 19, 2019
The festival will showcase different groups of Japanese talents and Japanese culture on Kauai. Taiko performances and classical Japanese dances will also be featured. Usually a featured performance from Japan is presented at this event along with some hands on activities (i.e. oshibana, origami, oshie), crafts, kimono dressing, tea ceremony, shodo, bonsai, ikebana, etc. The event will be held at Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall, Lihue. The event is free and open to the public.
