PHestival of Trees - Phoenixville, PA - Nov 12 to Nov 14, 2021
This three-day, walk-through event at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center features hundreds of decorated holiday trees, including one that’s 40 feet tall; a light show; decorated gingerbread houses; a live Nativity scene; a Hanukkah menorah; Kwanzaa imagery; and Santa himself. Timed tickets are required; proceeds benefit local animal shelters and rescues.

Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas. NOTE: Only the Zoo’s penguins will be on exhibit for guests to see. All of the other animals will be off of public view and sleeping in their indoor exhibits.

Gingerbread Competition and Display at Peddler’s Village - New Hope, PA - Nov 19 to Jan 8, 2022
A holiday tradition at Peddler’s Village since 1984, the Gingerbread Competition and Display is a feast for the eyes with more than 75 creative and whimsical entries in these categories: NEW! Holiday on Wheels, Traditional, Authentic Reproduction Around the World, 3-D, Movie or TV Set, Winter Wonderland, Student, and Kids Only. The Gingerbread entries will be on exhibit during shopping hours from November 19 through January 8, 2022. Admission is free.

Visitors of all ages will be wowed by a quarter mile of track featuring seven loops and tunnels with fifteen different rail lines and two cable cars, nine bridges (including a trestle bridge you can walk under), and bustling model trains, all set in the lovely winter garden of the Morris Arboretum. The display and buildings are all made of natural materials – bark, leaves, twigs, hollow logs, mosses, acorns, dried flowers, seeds and stones – to form a perfectly proportioned miniature landscape complete with small streams. Each building, while an exact replica of the original, is unique in its design. Philadelphia-area landmarks such as a masterpiece replica of Independence Hall are made using pinecone seeds for shingles, acorns as finials and twigs as downspouts.
