Fall fun is brewing at the annual “Roxtoberfest”, the Roxborough neighborhood’s uniquely Philly spin on the world-renowned German Oktoberfest celebration. The popular, family-friendly event will take place from 1 – 6 p.m. Food trucks, live music, German folk dancing, competitions and children’s activities are just some of the fun things to see, eat and do at Roxtoberfest. This fall street festival takes place along Ridge Avenue between Lyceum Avenue and Leverington Avenue in Roxborough.

Brauhaus Schmitz will transform the 16,000 square-foot 23rd Street Armory into the likeness of a Munich festival tent once again. The Armory will be decked out from top to bottom in Bavarian blue and white, with authentic festival tables and benches imported from Germany plus a lofted stage area plus special themed Oktoberfest activities and contests. Live music and a dance floor will be available for each of the three sessions (one Friday night and two Saturday). Traditional Oktoberfest food and beer. Grab a group and enjoy the benefits of VIP and Uber VIP tickets, including souvenir glasses, liters of beer, private seating with table service, private bathrooms, and food included! We’ve attended the media premiere of this event in the past and found every morsel offered to be delicious and the music fun, so we would definitely put this in the “don’t miss” column!

Rotary Club of the Upper Main Line’s Annual Oktoberfest is a family-friendly event. They’ll have games, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and bouncy-houses for the kids, plus live music, dancing, bratwurst, and a great beer selection (including Victory Oktoberfest) for kids-at-heart. 100% of the proceeds go directly to charity projects and donations. Locally, they support organizations like ACLAMO, ARC of Chester County, Community Volunteers In Medicine, Philabundance, and T&E Cares as well as supporting Rotary International initiatives such as disaster relief, food and medical services, and the fight to end polio. Admission: $8 advance, $10 at the door – Kids under 21 free with paying adult.

Tickets include one beverage of choice, a souvenir mug, and a platter of food. The platter is filled with either Spaetzle or Dumplings, Red Cabbage or Sauerkraut, One sausage (Bier, Bavarian or Oktoberfest), Bread or Roll, Sliced Pork or Sliced Beef.

This German bierhall and restaurant celebrates all week long. On Saturday it sponsors the annual Philadelphia Oktoberfest Block Party from 11AM to 8 PM. A 200 foot long tent will be erected on the 700 block of South Street. Live oompah music, ceremonial keg tapping and liter lift competition will accompany the German beer (10 kinds on tap!) and sausage. The VIP package gets you no wait bathrooms, Bavarian buffet, six tokens for beer, tshirt and stein.

Boyertown Oktoberfest - Boyertown, PA - Sep 15 to Sep 16, 2023
Highlights include German music, dancers, beer, food, crafts and artwork. Runs Friday from 5 to 9 PM and Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM. The mayor’s keg tapping will occur at 11 AM. It takes place at the Town Center Parking Lot behind the first block of East Philadelphia Ave. Parking is available on several local streets and lots. Anticipated attendance is approximately 5,000 people. Rain date is Sunday. This annual event on the third weekend in September is a fundraiser for Building a Better Boyertown. BBB is a nonprofit organization formed in 2002 to promote the community, preserve its historical heritage and attract people.

Triumph Oktoberest - New Hope, PA - Oct 5 to Oct 6, 2019
Canceled for 2021, look for their return in 2022. Normally: At noon they will have the traditional tapping of the first barrel of Oktoberfest by New Hope’s Mayor Keller. After 4pm, Oktoberfest is a 21+ only party with stein-hoisting competitions, pretzel eating competition, cornhole and giant Jenga on the patio, and more, plus live music, German staples and their delicious regular menu (Triumph is a favorite stop when we’re taking family train rides in New Hope with our nephew)
