There are a number of options to celebrate Halloween around the District of Columbia. Adults can choose from some wild Halloween parties. Families can select a kid friendly event to enjoy. It’s October and time to make plans to celebrate Halloween in Washington, DC and NoVa for 2019.

Halloween Eye Spy Train - Rockville, MD - Oct 6 to Oct 28, 2018
All aboard the Cabin John Eye Spy Halloween Train! NO LONGER HAUNTED! This “not so scary” train ride is fun for the whole family – it’s all about fun, not fright! Each child will receive an Eye Spy card before boarding the train. As you ride through the woods of Cabin John Regional Park, look all around to find Halloween friends hiding there, and mark them off the Eye Spy card. They’ll also show free Halloween movies inside the Train Station Party Room and have other fun Halloween activities for the kids. Costumes are encouraged! Please bring a canned food donation for your neighbors in need – they’ll donate them to Manna Food Center. Runs on Saturdays and Sundays in October

Participate in creepy crafts, spooky science experiments, and other Halloween-themed activities. Arrive in costume to get into the Halloween spirit and enjoy safe indoor trick-or-treating.

Gather the family together for a fun evening! Children can dress in their favorite costume, participate in a garden costume parade, paint a pumpkin, try a pumpkin treat, and top the evening off listening to award-winning storyteller Gary Loyld present “Pumpkin Tales for the Young” telling tales more funny than scary.
Last Call at Chez Mort - Gaithersburg, MD - Oct 26 to Oct 28, 2018
A Night Club in the 1920’s is the scene of a bizarre death. Possibly an accident or more likely a murder. Inspector Constantine could pin it on anyone of these mugs: the gangster, the show girl, the French guy, or the Russian with hatchet. Constantine relates the story of the case to a news reporter —the facts are a bit shaky and the details are hard to recall, but someone was arrested. Guests will enjoy a fun evening with a buffet of sweet treats Recommended for ages 15 & up.
Night of the Living Zoo - , DC - Oct 26, 2018
Ghouls and goblins will enjoy craft beer, fare from popular D.C. food trucks, a spooktacular costume contest, and performance artists while dancing to music at the DJ dance party. It’s a wicked night of fun that would be scary to miss!

Come out with your costumed canine and cruise to some Halloween tunes along the Potomac! We will have Halloween treats on board. Be sure to have your four-legged friend in their best costume.

Halloween Pumpkin Hunt - Alexandria, VA - Oct 27, 2018
Alexandria’s ghosts and goblins will fill their garden with hundreds of colorful toy-filled pumpkins for local children to discover. Other activities include crafts to take home, a sticker station, temporary tattoos, spooky stories, a costume parade with prizes as well as drinks and refreshments. Every participating child receives a pumpkin—one pumpkin in each of their pumpkin hunt sessions will have a certificate for a special prize hidden inside. Costumes encouraged!

Can you find the animal skulls hidden in the woods? On this self-guided hike, you’ll walk a short loop in search of skulls, and use clues to identify them. Stop by any time during program hours, and pick up a clue sheet. Get a Halloween treat after identifying all the skulls (or for wearing a costume)!
