2022 Deals: Find more Black Friday deals right now at Amazon.com. October 3, 2021 Update for Black Friday 2023: It looks like there are a total of five 8K LG televisions available this year. Three are from the LG NanoCell Series, one is an LG QNED MiniLED and the other is an LG Signature ZX. Sizes range between 65 inch and 88 inches, with pricing ranging from $1999.99 on the lower end for a 65 inch television (2020 model) to $29999.99 for the 88 inch LG Signature ZX 88 inch Smart OLED TV. We will be looking for LG TV deals on their high end models on the LG.com website, at Amazon.com, and at Best Buy (either online at BestBuy.com or in person at one of their approximately 1000 retail locations). July 1, 2020 Update for Black Friday 2020: LG has announced two new TV series for the LG 8K lineup in early 2020: LG NanoCell 99 Series The NanoCell 99 TV series brings 7 new 8K TVs the the LG lineup of the NanoCell TV series. This brings a Real 8K NanoCell Display and LG α9 Gen 2 Intelligent Processor 8K. The new NanoCell “Real 8K” lineup was announced in April 2020 and includes a 65 inch and 75 inch TV models with sales availability beginning in May and June. LG ZX Series This is the successor to last year’s OLED Z9 series from last year. This LG TV series has the α9 Gen 3 AI Processor 8K which is specifically engineered to power 8K performance. It includes a number of technologies to improve your television experience including 8K 4-step noise reduction, AI Picture Pro, AI Sound Pro and AI 8K Upscaling. These OLED tvs went on sale in March 2020. Prior Information from Last Year for Black Friday 2019:

The 88Z9 has more than 33 million pixels, which is more than 16 times the number of pixels on a 1080p full HD television. The resolution is 7680 x 4320. The regular retail price during the June 2019 pre-order was $42,000. Although we weren’t following the price deals on televisions during the pre-order (since it was summer and we were on our honeymoon), we did see one usually reliable indicate that it was priced as low as $29000 on sale. Tom’s Guide called it “a 88-inch gigantic beast … so sharp it will murder your eyes ….”

It has the OLED self-illumination per pixel standard with the technology. It also has true black pixels to provide contrast and dynamic range. It also includes a special version of the Alpha 9 Generation 2 video processor that improves noise reduction. It will also analyze ambient room conditions and adjust the picture to improve the quality. The processor will handle upscaling of 4K content too.

The 8K TV offers built-in compatibility with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control smart digital assistants.

The SM9975 has not been released or priced yet. It is an upscale rebrand of the LG Super UHD TVs as the NanoCell models with high end processors and frame rates. The television has LG ThinQ AI, Google Assistant, Alexa, LG α9 Gen 2 Pro Intelligent Processor, Full Array Dimming Pro, 8K NanoCell Display, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. As the 4K, 75″ version of the Nano 9 is regularly priced at $2699 at Best Buy, the 8K model is definitely going to be substantially more. It received a 2019 Honoree at the CES Innovation Awards.
