Apple Acres Farm - South Hiram, ME
The Johnson family has been running the farm since Leighton Johnson bought it in 1949 and started growing apples and raising chickens.There are 10+ acres available for picking, starting with Early Macs and Paulareds from mid-August to early September and finishing with Macintosh, Cortland, Macoun and Spencer apples.In the farm store, you can purchase their Apple Crackle, which was featured on the Rachel Ray Show as her snack of the day.For birdwatchers, more than 80 birds have been spotted in the area since 2004/2005.It is located in western Maine, 45 minutes from Portland, Maine.

Hope Orchards - Hope, ME
Cider pressing happens on Fridays beginning in late September and lasting through October.Their cider is not pasteurized and contains no preservatives.Special events: Fruits and Fibers Day offers local producers and fiber artists a show and sell opportunity.The orchard is owned by Brien and Emily Davis, who purchased it in 2001.It is Friday through Sunday starting in mid-September, with Wednesday and Thursday hours added in October.They are located about one hour south of Bangor and one hour west of Augusta.

Lakeside Orchards - Manchester, ME
The farm was purchased by its present owners, Steven and Marilyn Meyerhans, in 1973, although the farm dates back almost 200 years.Pick your own apples are available from the weekend after Labor Day until Columbus Day.Enjoy a wagon ride out to the orchard and pick McIntosh or other varieties of apples.Their farm market retail store is open Monday through Saturday, selling apples, apple cider and other local Maine products.

Libby & Son U-Picks - Limerick, ME
They have 12 acres of apple trees for picking in September and October on their 40+ acre farm.Fall apples include Macs, Macoun, Cortland and Honeycrisp.They are grown using an Integrated Pest Management program.PYO apples are priced in autumn at 99 cents per pound.Also enjoy their fresh pressed apple cider and hot apple cider donuts.There is no cost for admission or parking.

Ricker Hill Orchards - Turner, ME
Open every day this fall.  Pick your own pumpkins on this ninth generation apple orchard. They feature hard cider, a winery, a corn maze, country store, a bakery, and so much more fun. Their address is 295 Buckfield Rd (route 117), Turner Maine 04282. It is about 12 miles north of Lewiston.

Thompson’s Orchard - New Gloucester, ME
A 200+ acre family owned farm offering pick your own apples from dwarf trees for easy picking.Weekend entertainment includes horse drawn trailer hayrides.They have been serving up apple cider, pies, donuts and crafts in their country store for more than 100 years.They are open from Labor Day until December.

Treworgy Family Orchards - Levant, ME
Now open this 5 acre pick your own pumpkin patch has more than 30 varieties of pumpkins, squash and gourds. Free hayrides on Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday. Amazing corn field maze with both daytime and night events.  Five acre apple orchard as well. They also have an ice cream shop, goats, gift shop, and lots of Christmas activities. Their address is 3876 Union Street, Levant ME USA 04456. It is about 10 miles northwest of Bangor.
