The "Teen Beach Movie" is a Disney Channel Original Movie that first premiered in 2013. Directed by Jeffrey Hornaday, the film is a fun and lighthearted musical, intended to bring back the style of beach party films of the 1960s. It tells the story of two modern teenagers, Brady and Mack, who get caught in a magical storm while surfing and find themselves transported into a classic beach party movie, "Wet Side Story."

While in the movie, they interact with the characters and interfere with the film's plot. The two must figure out how to return to the real world without altering the movie's storyline. It's a colorful, musical journey filled with lively song-and-dance numbers, surf, sand, romance, and a touch of time-traveling magic.

The film is known for its catchy music, choreography, and costume design, drawing heavily on 60's beach culture and aesthetics. It was popular enough to warrant a sequel, "Teen Beach 2", which was released in 2015.

Teen Beach Characters

Brady, played by Ross Lynch, is one of the lead characters of Teen Beach Movie. He's a carefree, easygoing surfer who loves the fictional beach movie "Wet Side Story". Brady is a classic romantic and doesn't shy away from expressing his feelings, making him a charismatic and endearing character.

Mack, portrayed by Maia Mitchell, is Brady's pragmatic and ambitious girlfriend. She's a surfer as well but is more focused on her future plans of attending a prestigious school. Mack is the voice of reason between the two but also knows when to let loose and enjoy herself.

In "Wet Side Story", Tanner and Lela are the main characters. Tanner, played by Garrett Clayton, is the stereotypical beach movie lead - good-looking, not the sharpest tool in the shed but kind-hearted. Lela, portrayed by Grace Phipps, is Tanner's love interest in the film. She's sweet, naive and adores Tanner.

There are numerous other colorful characters that inhabit the world of "Wet Side Story", each of them embodying the exaggerated archetypes common to the beach movies of the 1960s.
