Become the villain of the first Wonder Woman movie with an Ares costume, who is played in the movie by David Thewlis.
Ares is a fictional supervillain character in DC Comics based on the Greek mythological figure. Ares is the Greek god of war and an adversary of Wonder Woman.
In the movie which takes place during World War 1, Wonder Woman believes that Ares is Doctor Maru, who is threatening the world with a deadly form of mustard gas. Maru is stopped by Diana Prince and Steve Trevor, but it turns out that he was not Ares.
Sir Patrick Morgan is a member of the British War Council during the events of World War I, seemingly advocating for peace and an armistice. However, at the end of the 2017 movie, it is revealed that Morgan is actually Ares.
Ares and Morgan were played by David Thewlis in Wonder Woman (2017) as well as Justice League. Thewlis is probably best known for his role as Remus Lupin in the Harry Potter film series.
Rubie’s Costumes has the official license for Halloween costumes for the Wonder Woman series. However, Rubies declared bankrtupcy in April 2020 and it is known yet known how this will impact costume manufacturing and sales / availability for Halloween 2020.
Although a Steve Trevor costume is the preferred men’s costume match for a couples costume idea, one of the Men’s Ares costumes can also be used if you prefer a more combative relationship.
There are two versions of the Ares costume made by Rubies. There is a regular costume and a deluxe version. Both options are only made in men’s sizes. We are not aware of a children’s version for boys who want to be Ares at Halloween. If you want to help your child dress as Ares, you will have to make your own costume.
