There are numerous Texas ghost tours and you’ll find some of the nation’s most haunted locations in Galveston, San Antonio, Austin and Houston. Haunted America Tours called Galveston the World’s Seventh Most Haunted Place because of the drownings that occurred during the Great Storm of 1900 as well as its history with pirates and civil war soldiers. CNBC called San Antonio the fifth most haunted city in America due to hauntings along the Riverwalk and the Alamo. The Stockyards of Fort Worth are all reportedly haunted, but Miss Molly’s Bed & Breakfast is considered the most haunted. The Driskill Hotel in Austin is said to be haunted by a half dozen ghosts, including its founder Jesse Driskill. Haunted America Tours called it the world’s 25th most haunted place. Haunted America Tours also put Houston on its list of the 100 spookiest places in the world because of hauntings at the Spaghetti Warehouse, La Carafe, and Battleship Texas, among other places. And the Jefferson Hotel is perhaps one of the most haunted hotels in the United States.

Baker Hotel Ghost Walk - Mineral Wells, TX

Burleson Historical Ghost Tour - Burleson, TX
Tours meets every Friday and Saturday nights at the Burleson Visitors Center at 124 W. Ellison St. Tours begin at 7:30 p.m. and can last up to 2.5 hours. If desired, the Baker House can be visited at the end of the tour. A visit to the Baker House will require another hour. Tickets are $10.00 for adults. Cash only. Call for reservations.

Denton Haunts Ghost Tour - Denton, TX
The haunted history and spooky spectres of Denton, TX that entertains with stories of ghosts and hauntings. Both history and mystery combine in a walking tour of the historic Denton Courthouse Square based in archival research, interviews, and oral lore about local legends. Founded by “Doc” (a local university professor) in the fall of 2011.

Fort Worth Ghost - Fort Worth, TX
This a tour of the Fort Worth Stockyards for the curious, the ordinary folk and the skeptics who will visit the streets of Fort Worth and possibility make them a real believer in ghosts. There are many areas thought to be haunted in Fort Worth that might reveal paranormal activity of ghosts and spirits that roam the streets at night hours. The tour is lead by a Certified Parapsychologist with over 20 years of investigating the paranormal. Most of the buildings in the Stockyards have been investigated by Paula personally. Tours are $25 per person.

Fort Worth’s Ghost Bus Tour - Fort Worth, TX
Thursday, Friday and Saturday Tours at 7 PM and 9 PM. Tickets are $25. Bus departs from Acre Distillery at 1309 Calhoun St.

Ghostly Hauntings at Chestnut Square - McKinney, TX
The Ghostly Hauntings at Chestnut Square tour is a 2 hour lantern led tour of the historic homes at Chestnut Square. Hear the history of the homes, the people who lived in them, how they lived and all the ghostly hauntings that happen in each house. $20 per person. Third Saturday of every month at 8pm. Tours resume in September Legends of McKinney Ghost Walk is a self-guided, self-paced Ghost Walk throughout Chestnut Square Historic Village and the downtown McKinney Square. Ticket booklets provide maps of the sites and storytellers at each site will share the legends, and tales of paranormal experience! Spooky fun and refreshments available at Chestnut Square each evening. Tickets prices are: Adults: $15 in advance, $20 the night of the Ghost Walk. Children 12 and under are $5. Children 3 and under are free.

Ghosts of Denton - Denton, TX
A year-round haunted history tour of downtown Denton, Texas. As of July 1st, 2016, the tour begins at The Discover Denton Welcome Center, 111 W. Hickory Street on the south side of the Square. Tickets are $15/person for adults and $8/person for ages 6-11. The walking tour is approximately 90 minutes, and most of it revolves around the square, although on some nights there are a few stops that are about two blocks away. Tour participants should wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. In summer, it’s a good idea to bring a bottle of water. Led by Shelly Tucker, a professional storyteller for 27 years.

Granbury Ghosts and Legends Tour - Granbury, TX
a walking tour of Granbury’s Historic Square. Frommer’s Travel Guides called it one of the seven best ghost tours in the country. Tours depart from Wagon Yard Courtyard on Bridge St. next to the Nutt Hotel, at 7 and 9:15 pm on Friday and Saturday nights. Cost is $10 per person, $7 for children 12 and under. Reservations are recommended as space is limited. They also host the Last Mile Cemetery tour of Granbury City Cemetery on Friday and Saturday nights at 10:45 pm. Explore the history of the area and famous residents including the notorious Jesse James. This tour is by reservation only and the cost is $10 per person.

Haunted Tyler Tour - Tyler, TX
Tour lasts approximately 3 hours. Price: $15 Adults, $7 Kids (12 & under)

Night Watchman Ghost Tour - Grapevine, TX
The tour combines stories of hauntings, past and present, along with the history of the city. The tour begins and ends at Grapevine Springs Winery, with a complimentary glass of wine for each guest on the tour. Bring your cameras for a chance to capture paranormal activity.

Waxahachie Haunted History Tour - Waxahachie, TX
2 hour tour with stops at Rogers Hotel, Ellis County Courthouse and lesser known buildings around the downtown area.


San Antonio Ghost Tours

Alamo City Ghost Tours - San Antonio, TX
bus and walking tours of San Antonio. Walking tours depart nightly at 9 PM and last approximately 90 minutes. Ghost hunting equipment including EMF meters is available for use while on the tour. The tour starts at the River Walk beside Ripley’s Believe it or Not. Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 5 to 14.

Bad Wolf Ghost Tours - San Antonio, TX

Haunted Trails of Castroville - Castroville, TX
1.75 hour ghost and cemetery tours of Castroville. Learn about ten haunted locations in the city, the history of the spot and the ghosts that inhabit them. New Braunfels Ghost Tours - New Braunfels, TX
a 90 minute historical tour of downtown New Braunfels with plenty of spooky tales about the area. Tours begin at 8:00 p.m. from in front of Naegelin’s Bakery (129 South Seguin Street). Please arrive 15 minutes early (7:45 p.m). It is recommended for ages 12 and up. The cost is $20 per person.

RJA Ghost Tours - San Antonio, TX

SegCity Ghost Tour - San Antonio, TX
a two hour Segway tour relaying present day stories of paranormal activity at haunted locations in San Antonio, including the Alamo and the Main Plaza. The cost of the tour is $65 per person. Tours depart at 6 and 6:30 PM.

Silver Ghost Tour - San Antonio, TX
a 90 minute walking tour in San Antonio with plenty of Texas legends and ghost stories. It covers less than one mile with frequent stops. Tours cost $18 for adults with discounts for students, seniors and the military.

Sisters Grimm Ghost Tours - San Antonio, TX
90 minute, 1.5 mile lantern guided walking tours of San Antonio. Departs nightly from the Alamo at 8:30 pm. Reservations are required. The cost is $10 for children ages 7-15 and $15 for adults. As of 5/1/2014, they offer $1 off if you book online and use the coupon code on their website. Customers can add a three course meal at the Colonial Room Restaurant and thirty minute tour of the Menger Hotel for an additional cost: Adult price (including tour) is $56.95. Children 12 and under are $29.95.

Austin

Austin Ghost Tours - Austin, TX
walking tours, trolley tours and paranormal investigations of Austin. Walking tours cost $10-20 per person. Current tour options include the Warehouse District, Capitol & Old Pecan District, and Congress Avenue. The Warehouse District tour has been called one of the top ten ghost tours in the country. The tour group was founded by Jeanine Plumer over a decade ago.

Ghost Wagon Tours - Belton, TX

Haunted ATX - Austin, TX
tours of Austin in a haunted hearse converted into a limo. You and up to six guests visit twelve landmarks that are haunted or have had past paranormal activity. Trips last approximately two hours. Locations visited include the Driskill Hotel, the Texas State Capitol, the Tavern, Clay Pit, UT Clock Tower and Austin State Hospital. Your ride is a 1992 Cadillac Hearse converted into a limousine. The cost is $39 for adults and $35 for children. Minimum group size is 2.

Historic Salado Ghost Walk - Salado, TX
A lantern-lit stroll down Salado’s historic Main Street. Get lost in tales of cowboys, Indians, buried treasure, and ghosts. Meet at the Barrow Brewing Company (108 Royal Street). The tour is approximately 1 1/2 hours (1.5 miles). $20 per person. The guide will be author, historian, and storyteller, Jonathan Hal Reynolds.

El Paso

El Paso Ghost Tours - El Paso, TX
a walking tour of downtown El Paso focusing on its history and locations of paranormal activity. Children 12 and under are not permitted. Downtown tours on Friday nights depart at 8 PM from Leo’s Mexican Restaurant (downtown). Past locations have included the Hotel Gardner, Insights Science Museum, the Palace Saloon, and the former law office of John Wesley Hardin. Twice a month they investigate the Amador Hotel in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Tickets are $15 are in advance or $20 at the door if there is space available (the tour is capped at 15 people due to the size of the building).

Paso Del Norte Paranormal Society - El Paso, TX
tours of Concordia Cemetery, San Elizario and downtown El Paso. The cemetery tours are held on the first Saturday of the month. The cost of the two hour guided tour is a $10 donation to the Concordia Heritage Association. No children under the age of 13 are permitted.


Houston

Ghost Tours of Galveston Island - Galveston, TX
Multiple tours delving into the history and mysteries of Galveston. Original Ghost Tour on the Strand is the tour that started it all and the most popular. Restless Spirits Tour is a bit darker and focuses more on modern events rather than the history of the area. Secret Society Cemetery Tour explores Old City Cemetery, a combination of seven cemeteries that grew together over time. Jack The Ripper Mystery Island Tour is a riding adventure through the streets of Galveston for groups with stories of the truth behind unsolved mysteries of the island. The founder and premiere guide is Dash Beardsley, the Ghost Man of Galveston.

Ghost Tours Texas - Houston, TX
Ghost tours of Galveston, Houston Heights and Kemah. The Galveston tour is available May through August nightly at 8 PM. The tour takes approximately 105 minutes and covers six blocks of the haunted mansion district. Cost is $22 for adults and $16 for children ages 6-12. Meets at the Rosenberg Library. The haunted heights tour departs from the Heights Church parking lot when there is advanced confirmation of five or more guests on the tour. The Kemah tour is private, meaning that you need a minimum of 5 people in your group or it is a minimum of $110. Tours depart from the Kemah School & Visitor’s Center.

Houston Ghost Tour - Tomball, TX
walking tours year round in Houston, Humble, Spring, and Tomball. In Houston, guests will learn about the history of Hermann Park (which once had a cemetery) and the surrounding area. In Humble, you’ll learn about the greed and corruption when the discovery of oil caused the people of the town to strike it rich. Hear stories about the Satanic Church, the Old Bingo Hall and other sites in the town first settled in 1828. In Spring, guides lead you on an exploration of one of the most haunted towns in the Old West. The cost of tours ranges from $7 (for the 20 minute tour) to $22.

Houston Historical Tours - Houston, TX
four different, three hour guided driving tours of Houston. They also offer a short (under 2 hour) and long (over 2 hour) walking tour. Walking tours are 21+ (as they go into bars) and start at Brewery Tap (717 Franklin St). The tours stop briefly at haunted locations such as Donnellan Crypt and the Houston Cotton Exchange. They also enter a number of haunted restaurants/bars for a drink, so bring extra cash to consume some spirits. The driving tours include a number of cemeteries and sites of accidents, murders and paranormal activity. Tour departure times vary by month.

Huntsville Ghost Tours - Huntsville, TX
Departs from Oakwood Cemetery on Thursday and Friday evenings at 9 PM (Summer) and 7 PM (Winter). It lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Cost is $12 for adults and $5 for children. Reservations are required.

Old Town Spring Ghost Tour - Spring, TX
hosts two hour walking tours of Old Town Spring. The tour starts at the Whitehall House with an introduction to ghost hunting proceeding to the other stops on the tour. Cost of tickets is $22. Advance ticket purchases are required and can be made online or over the phone. The dinner and paranormal investigation with Spirit Quest Paranormal at the haunted Whitehall House. After dinner, professional ghost hunters set up their equipment to detect ghosts and you can use your own equipment that you bring as well. Admission is $60 and includes the cost of your meal.

Historic Jefferson Ghost Walk is a 1.5 hour lantern lit walking tour of Jefferson’s historic, haunted locations. Tours depart year round on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 PM. Tour departs from the Sandwich Shoppe (Old Kahn Saloon) on the corner of Austin and Vale. Tickets are $13 for adults and $7 for children ages 6-11 years old.

Historical Tours of Wichita Falls, Texas offers nighttime walking tours of the dark side of Wichita Falls as well as a daytime cemetery tour. The Dark Side Tour offers tales of fires, bank robberies, murder and more while covering 12 blocks. It costs $10 per person. No children under the age of 13 as the stories have gruesome details. The Riverside Cemetery tour is $10 per person and covers the stories of the deaths of the people identified in sixteen headstones. It is a partial driving tour that requires you to drive your own car.
