Fall Pecan Festivals

Pecan Festivals have started to populate some areas of the south. Although Georgia, New Mexico, and Texas are the largest American producers of pecans they’re not the only states where you’ll find pecan festivals now and throughout the year.

This celebrated soft, sweet nut, perhaps most famous for pralines and pies, can be a great source of healthy fiber and protein as well. So, don’t hesitate to grab several bags from the vendors you’ll come across as you visit their booths and taste the wares. And be sure to be on hand for the pecan toss as well as the crowning of the king and queen of pecans, a rather important event at most pecan fests.

Depending on the size of the celebration, there will be plenty of music and yes – other food to enjoy besides pecans. So come hungry and ready for nutty fun.
