Fall Kite Festivals

Check out this list of Kite Festivals this fall.  While April may be National Kite Month, it doesn’t mean you have to pack it in by the time autumn rolls around. There’s still more than enough wind to make a kite festival a lot of fun. If you are located along the coast, you are in luck. You should be able to find a kite festival near you. If you live in the middle of the country, you’ll probably have to head near Chicago. There’s a number of kite festivals near the Windy City.

Lincoln City Fall Kite Festival - Lincoln City, OR - Oct 3 to Oct 4, 2020
Canceled for 2021, look for their return in 2022. Normally: Kite flying demonstrations from experts, free kids kitemaking, running of the bols, and big kites! 10 AM to 4 PM on Saturday and Sunday. Held at the D River Wayside on the beach in the middle of Lincoln City

Sailwinds Park East Kite Festival - Cambridge, MD - Oct 18 to Oct 18, 2020
Free festival features kites of all shapes and sizes. Bring your own kite, buy one, or watch expert kite flyers, plus bungee bounce, face painting, food, music and more

Belvidere Kite Festival - Belvidere, IL - Sep 11 to Sep 11, 2021
Prairie Fields Sports Park plays host to a family kite fly! Bring out the whole family for a day of kite fun – and you can bring, make, or buy a kite at the event, and FREE paper kite kits to the first 100 kids in attendance

DeKalb Kite Fest - DeKalb, IL - Sep 12 to Sep 12, 2021
Free admission to enjoy the colorful kites that take to the sky, including giant inflatable kites, dancing kites, and stunt kites attract kite enthusiasts and families – bring your own kite or make on there!

Whidbey Island Kite Festival - Coupeville, WA - Sep 18 to Sep 19, 2021
Join in kids’ kitemaking, lessons, kite demonstrations, and Sport Kite Championship events.
