Find the best deals on airline flights for Black Friday 2019. From Thanksgiving Day to Cyber Monday 2019, we will compile travel deals from Southwest, Spirit, American, Delta, United and other airlines ahead of Travel Deal Tuesday.
Here are some of the airline deals that we will be following over Thanksgiving weekend:
Southwest Airlines: In 2017, they offered $250 off flight and hotel packages as part of Southwest Vacations. They were also expected to offer rolling deals during Cyber Week. Southwest is the world’s largest low cost carrier. They have more than 50,000 employees and help more than 120 million travelers annually.
Spirit Airlines: Spirit rolled out a Black Friday sale in 2017 advertising fares up to 90% off. The one day sale had to be booked by midnight on Black Firday. The sale fares were restricted to flights on Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the winter with certain blacked out days. Travelers needed to enter a promo code to get the discounted fare. Spirit is the eighth largest airline carrier in North America.
American Airlines: AA offered bonus miles of up to 80% as part of its Cyber Monday promotion in 2017. American is headquartered in Fort Worth and is the world’s largest airline when measured by fleet size, revenue, scheduled passengers carried, scheduled passenger-kilometers flown, and number of destinations served.
Delta Air Lines: Delta offered Black Friday discounts on one of its new routes, JFK (New York) to the Azores in 2017. Flights to the Azores’ main international airport in Ponta Delgada run from May to September. Coach fares on sale ranged from $599 to $919 with a round-trip purchase required. They also offered pre-Black Friday deals for miles booked flights between New York LaGuardia-Miami (12,000 miles), Boston-Orlando (14,000 miles) and San Diego-Salt Lake City (11,000 miles). They also had a variety of other early Black Friday sales on routes to warm weather locations over the winter, such as from New York City to Bermuda or Fort Lauderdale. Delta Airlines serves around 180 million travellers every year. They are headquartered in Atlanta and offer service to more than 300 destinations in more than 50 countries on six continents.
United Airlines: Last year, they offered a 20% discount for Cyber Monday on MileagePlus economy award redemptions to Hawaii. It required booking by December 8th for flights between January 7 and March 10. They are the third largest airline in the world with more than 80,000 employees (including their holding company). They have approximately 750 planes.
WOW Air: WOW last year offered Purple Friday sale fares starting on the Monday before Thanksgiving between certain American cities to Europe for as little as $99 one way. Flights from the West Coast to European cities started at $129. This airline is known for bargain basement fares between the United States and Europe. Remember as you are booking your tickets, they are discount flights and charge extra for nearly everything.
Cathay Pacific: They last year offered an early Black Friday deal discounting business class fares between the US and Asia as much as 60% off the regular price. They also offered Premium Economy tickets at around 50% off the usual tickets. The deals had to be booked by November 29th for flights occurring between January 1 and May 23.
Air China: For flights booked by Cyber Monday (for travel through the end of April with certain black out dates), they offered 15% off round trip fares between the United States and China.
