Kentucky Halloween Events 2022

Are you ready to track down some fun events for Halloween 2022? We have put together one of the largest calendars of Halloween events in the United States for you. We’ve located holiday activities for all ages – from kid-friendly children’s activities to adult Halloween parties. We don’t have every event yet, but there are plenty of ideas to get you and your family in the mood for Halloween in Kentucky.

Louisville Halloween Parade and Street Festival - Louisville, KY - Sep 30 to Nov 5, 2022
Events all throughout the month of October, including movie screenings, pumpkin picking chili cook off, and more. Main family-friendly event the weekend of/before Halloween includes a parade, craft booths, live entertainment and more

Boo at the Zoo – Louisville Zoo - Louisville, KY - Oct 1 to Oct 30, 2022
If scary is no fun for your little ones, then don’t miss the sweetest party in town. Experience your Zoo magically transformed into a living storybook with costumed characters and trick-or-treating for kids 11 and under. The party starts at 5pm on select days in October – special tickets are required for all guests (3+)

Pumpkin Patch Trains - Versailles, KY - Oct 1 to Oct 29, 2022
A special holiday treat! Each weekend in October the Autumn Leaves trains will stop on the way back from the Kentucky River at the non-profit Life Adventure Center so that passengers can disembark to purchase their holiday pumpkins. LAC is asking for a donation of $3 for small and $7 for large pumpkins (cash only please).

Halloween Campout - Lexington, KY - Oct 4 to Oct 15, 2022
Held at Kentucky Horse Park Campground, for two great weekends of ice cream socials, games and crafts for kids, live entertainment, trick or treating, costume contest and more

Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular - Louisville, KY - Oct 4 to Oct 31, 2022
Held in Iroquois Park with 5,000 carved pumpkins along a 1/3 mile walking trail, a night time art show for all to enjoy.

Thriller and Halloween Parade - Lexington, KY - Oct 22, 2022
Lexington’s largest, free Halloween party will kick off with Halloween-inspired art and performances and will culminate with the Halloween Parade and Thriller reenactment. Food and beverage vendors will be onsite serving up good eats and treats. 4-9 pm at different downtown locations – See the event website for more information

BOOktacular Costume Party - Lexington, KY - Oct 29, 2022
The Lexington Public Library’s spooky soiree Booktacular is Lexington’s premiere adult costume party, with live music and great food. Proceeds to benefit the Library’s learning iniiatives.

Ghost Cruise - Louisville, KY - Oct 29, 2022
21+. As you step aboard the 108-year-old Belle of Louisville, be prepared to explore with your very own Ghost Guide, who will take you on an expedition around the historic vessel, stopping along the way to tell terrible tales inspired by the antique steamboat’s own history and the murky depths of the Ohio River. Afterwards, journey into the past, present and future as you visit the Captain’s Quarters to have your tarot cards read by a psychic. Spend the rest of your spooky evening enjoying cursed cocktails and a costume contest on the Ballroom Deck. Then dance the night away with the Halloween Dance Party

Ghost Cruise (for Kids) - Louisville, KY - Oct 29, 2022
Step aboard the historic steamer Belle of Louisville for a Ghost Cruise full of fun for the entire family! Guests will have the opportunity to explore the 108-year-old vessel with their very own Ghost Guide, stopping along their journey to hear terrible tales inspired by the antique steamboat’s own history and the murky depths of the Ohio River. But it’s not all spooks and scares! Halloween-themed crafts, activities and music will also be featured, followed by a trick-or-treating event at the end of the cruise. Costumes are encouraged for this Halloween cruise, but not required

Night of the Great Pumpkin Trick or Treat - Harrodsburg, KY - Oct 31, 2022

Grand Rivers Trunk or Treat - Grand Rivers, KY - Oct 31, 2022
The Grand Rivers Community Center hosts a trunk or treat events with indoor, ourdoor, and vehicular treat stations, decorated for the holiday and ready to hand out candy to your little ghosts and goblins!

Haunted Halloween Express - Stearns, KY - Oct 25 to Oct 26, 2019
All aboard the pumpkin train! If you prefer your frights with a side of history and local lore, this is the train ride for you. Historic Stearns combines the old-fashioned thrill of riding through the dark on a train, into creepy wooded areas and inside the historic K&T tunnel, as one makes one’s way toward a haunted layover at Barthell Coal Camp. Barthell will provide a haunted house experience and Halloween activities for the whole family. Halloween costumes are encouraged.

Halloween Walk with the Animals - Frankfort, KY - Oct 26, 2019
This kid-friendly event runs from 12pm to 4pm and will feature hay maze, face painting, and – of course – plenty of candy! All of the center’s indoor and outdoor exhibits will also be open for viewing. Admission is $5 per person (ages 2+, including adults), and all proceeds benefit the center. Held at the Salata Wildlife Education Center.

Spooktacular Halloween Parade - Harrodsburg, KY - Oct 26, 2019
5pm – drop off pumpkins for juding at Judicial Center steps. 5:30 – contests, 6- parade lines up 7-7:30pm – don your costumes and walk in the parade.

Pumpkin Run 3K - Lexington, KY - Oct 24 to Oct 31, 2020
Virtual for 2020. Please join the Easter Seals Pumpkin Run 3K benefiting Easter Seals Cardinal Hill Adaptive Recreation. The race will be held at 9:30 am at Wellington Park.
