What began in 1917 as an opportunity for a teacher to showcase her student’s handiwork has grown to include live music, contests, exhibit halls, food, rides, tractor pull, pageants, and more!

Lehigh RiverFest - Weatherly, PA - Aug 23 to Aug 25, 2019
A community of boaters enjoys rapids and festival fun on the Lehigh River as the dam is released. Bike rentals, paintball target range, live music, and shuttles to the scenic bike trail in Lehigh Gorge State Park add to the weekend. Free parking and admission!

La Festa Italiana - Scranton, PA - Aug 30 to Sep 2, 2019
A celebration of Italian culture and cuisine over Labor Day Weekend, with over 80 vendors offering food, live entertainment on multiple stages, 5k, Mass and more. Free admission! Don’t miss Lackawanna Railfest, happening the same weekend nearby! Train excursions, food tents, model railroads and more, with transportation in between the two events.

Pocono Garlic Festival - East Stroudsburg, PA - Aug 31 to Sep 1, 2019
60 vendors of food and crafts offering garlic everything to try at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area. 10 AM to 6 PM. Advance ticket sales are from May until early September. Arts & crafts, entertainment, garlic eating contest, chopped garlic cooking competition and children’s area with petting zoo and more entertainment.

Lackawanna Railfest - Scranton, PA - Aug 31 to Aug 31, 2019
Steamtown National Historic Site plays host to this annual festival held each Labor Day weekend. Scale model trains, train rides, food vendors, and more. Coincides with La Fiesta Italiana at Lackawanna County Courthouse Square, so make a great weekend out of these festivals!
