St Paul’s Kirchenfest - Highland, IL - Aug 25 to Aug 27, 2023
Kirchenfest, which is German for Church Festival, is one of the largest church festivals in Southern Illinois with the event spreading over six acres on the grounds of St. Paul Parish. Beginning in 1970, the festival has a German theme, as the Highland community is primarily Swiss and German heritage. This two-day festival offers something for everyone – food (including a Bavarian skillet dish prepared by a 500 pound skillet and a sit-down chicken dinner), live music, games, live auction, flea market, a competitive run, bike ride and much more!

Mississippi Earthtones Festival - Alton, IL - Sep 16 to Sep 16, 2023
Come celebrate life on the Mississippi River through art, music, and conservation! This free & family-friendly event located on Broadway between Easton and Langdon Streets will feature 50+ educational booths and art displays, plus two stages of live music and other performances, great local food & beverages. Their goal is to bring locals and tourists alike to Downtown Alton to celebrate the Mississippi River through art, music and conservation.The following Saturday, bring your own gloves and clean up the river! 45 tons of trash have been pulled from the river during MEF events to date.

O’Fallon Fall Into the Arts Fest - O'Fallon, MO - Sep 17 to Sep 17, 2023

A family friendly festival to celebrate the community and German heritage. Local bands and German bands on the entertainment schedule. More than 100,000 visitors annually. Help stir the apple butter, live musical entertainment in the par, more than 500 food, drink & craft vendors line the streets plus, for kids, a miniature train, petting zoo and pony rides. Park at the Windsor School and catch the bus downtown, as streets will be closed during festival hours.

Start a new Thanksgiving tradition by running or walking in your local, family-friendly Turkey Trot STL 5K. An active morning will help balance the afternoon’s calorie intake and your participation will benefit those less fortunate by supporting local food pantries. For participants 12 years and under there is a free 1/2 mile youth-run.

Ameren Thanks For Giving Parade - St. Louis, MO - Nov 23 to Nov 23, 2023
Starts at 8:45 in downtown St Louis. Parade goers can expect over 130 parade units, including musical floats and displays, giant helium balloon figures, restored antique cars and firetrucks, and marching bands from around the St. Louis region. As always, Santa Claus will be present to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season at the conclusion of the parade.

Celebration of Lights - O'Fallon, MO - Nov 24 to Dec 30, 2023
O’Fallon’s most historic park, Fort Zumwalt, is set to come alive with the area’s largest holiday light display. Each scene is designed and funded by local organizations, churches and businesses. Started in 1991, the event attracts more than 12,000 vehicles each year and more than 10,000 individuals during the Old-Fashioned Holiday Stroll.
