The Google Pixel Slate bridges the gap between the tablet and laptop market.Beefed up internals and an improved tablet version of Chrome OS the Pixel Slate is well placed to be a great seller this Black Friday and throughout the 2019 holiday season.

The Pixel slate exterior is simple and is purpose built tablet with a keyboard and desktop operating functionality.It weighs in at about 1.6 lbs. and well balanced in the hand. The 12.3 inch screen is crystal clear and has a high resolution than its competitors.The Pixel has front and rear facing 8 megapixel cameras.

The Pixel operates the Chrome OS, which Google is betting big on its success.The Software features full desktop version of Chrome and easy navigation through multiple windows.The Pixel also has a split screen mode that can operate two apps at once, but it is not supported by many apps. It has a dedicated Google assistant button for easy access. The Chrome OS user interface looks a lot like an Android phone.Google continues to improve Chrome OS and indicated that it’s the horse they are betting on in this competitive space.

The Chrome Pixel Slate starts at $599 with the Intel Celeron Processor 4GB of ram and 32GB of storage.There are a lot of configuration options, such as more storage and additional RAM and aa much faster processor. Here’s a lay out of the Pixel Slate models:

Keep in mind that the keyboard and PixelBook Pen are both sold separately.The Pixel Slate Keyboard is currently priced at $199.It attaches firmly to the edge of the Pixel Slate magnetically.The keys are round with a shallow stroke, which is a bit different from the iPad and Surface. The Keyboard doubles as screen stand and cover for the Pixel Slate.There are 3rd party keyboards available for about $150 and there will be more coming soon. Google is not currently bundling the keyboard or the PixelBook Pen with the Slate. We expect that will change as Black Friday 2019 approaches because it’s a perfect package deal.
