I pushed the start of Funtober forward into September in order to accommodate the largest October festival. But now that you have attended Oktoberfest, I’m sure that you are asking: What’s next?
Don’t worry. Event organizers around the country have planned festivals in October to take advantage of the beautiful weather and your desire to continue the party. The most popular festivals celebrate fall or the harvest. There are so many fall and harvest festivals in communities across the United States that I’m hesitant to post the list for fear that you will attempt to attend them all! Ha. Not really. But I do think that you will have to be selective about what festivals you decide to attend. There are around 300 located at the link that you just passed. And that’s not including the specialty harvest festivals that I have included with foods below.
Here are some of the more popular food festivals for you to consider attending:
Apple Festivals
Apple Butter Festivals
Avocado Festivals
Barbecue Festivals
Beer Festivals
Cheese Festivals
Chocolate Festivals
Clam Festivals
Crab Festivals
Cranberry Festivals
Garlic Festivals
Gourd Festivals
Mullet Festivals
Mushroom Festivals
Oyster Festivals
Peanut Festivals
Pecan Festivals
Potato Festivals
Pumpkin Festivals
Rice Festivals
Seafood Festivals
Wine Festivals
And a few other types of festivals:
Scarecrow Festivals
Regattas
Cotton festivals
Film Festivals
Hot Air Balloon Festivals
Music Festivals
Fiber Festivals
Street Festivals
Timber Festivals
Clay Festivals
Fall Foliage Festivals
Kite Festivals
I know that you want the list of October festivals organized by state. I’m working on it. But it’s a massive undertaking. I’ll have it up soon, I promise. EDIT: Here’s the list:
