Fall Kansas Festivals
There’s an impressive list of fall festivals in Kansas this year. Once you have moved past the Kansas Oktoberfest celebrations. There’s a ton of fall festivals in September and October. And some of the more unique festivals in the states. A maple leaf festival outside of Canada? A wizard of oz party? These are just two from the list that you should definitely check out in 2015:

Spinach Festival – Lenexa – Sept 12, 2015
Celebrate at the Spinach Capital of the World (declared in the 1930s) with thousands of others. The World’s Largest Spinach Salad, spinach recipe contest, cooking demonstrations and kids’ activities. Held at Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park. Admission is $1 with children 12 and under free.
Kansas State Fair – Hutchinson, KS – September 11-20, 2015
Midway, carnival rides, car show, antique farm machinery show, exotic animal petting zoo, pig races, motorcycle rally & parade, antique tractor pull, pedal pull championships and more.
Greeley Smokeoff – Greeley, KS – Sept 11-13, 2015
Over $3000 in prizes for this BBQ contest. There’s also live music, slow pitch softball and food tasting with donations to benefit local charities.
Derby BBQ Festival – Derby – Sept 12, 2015
People’s Choice Cook-off and kids chocolate chip cookie bake-off.
Walnut Valley Festival – Winfield – Sept 16-20, 2015
44th annual event. A music festival with bluegrass and other forms of acoustic music. Attendance is approximately 15,000 annually. Held on the third weekend in September at the Cowley County Fairgrounds.
Kincaid Free Fair – Kincaid, KS – September 17-19, 2015
Scottish Festival – McPherson – Sept 25-27, 2015
Pipers, drummers, celtic music, dancing, scotch tasting, Highland heavy athletics and more.
Valley Center Fall Festival – Valley Center, KS – September 25-26, 2015
54th annual event with crafts, food, music, carnival rides and more.
Concordia Fall Festival – Concordia, KS – September 26, 2015
Parade, food, crafts and more.
Village West Winefest – Sept 19, 2015
Get wine and food from 30 restaurants on the Wine Walk, 100+ craft beers in the beer garden, fireworks and after party.
Clearwater Fall Festival – Clearwater, Kansas – September 17-20, 2015
This year’s theme is Remembering the Past, Embracing the Future.
Blues Festival – Paxico, KS – September 19, 2015
Held annually on the third Saturday in September. Admission is free. Plenty of music, antiques and food.
Spring Hill Fall Festival – Spring Hill, KS – September 19, 2015
61st annual event with parade, arts & crafts, beer garden, food, live music and more.
Pioneer Harvest Fiesta – Fort Scott, KS – September 25-27, 2015
59th annual event at the Bourbon County Fairgrounds. Parade of antique farm implements, quilt show, arts & crafts, flea market, live music and more. Full Weekend Admission is $5 per person.
Overland Park Fall Festival – Overland Park, KS – September 26, 2015

Cornstock – Garnett – September 26, 2015
The Anderson County Corn Festival. Live music headlined by Rodney Atkins, cornhole, night golf tournament, outdoor fun show and more.
OZtoberfest – Wamego, KS – September 26, 2015
Highway 99 and Lincoln Avenue (The Road to Oz) celebrates the classic American film the Wizard of Oz with a car show, costume contest, bike ride and more.

Visit Little Sweden for this Swedish honoring festival. First event took place in 1941. Smörgåsbord (a Scandinavian feast), arts & crafts, folk dancing, parade, Swedish music and more.
Greater Kansas City Japan Festival – Overland Park, KS – October 3, 2015
Columbus Day Festival Hot Air Balloon Regatta -Columbus, KS – October 9-11, 2015
Lots of events on the schedule here in addition to the colorful hot air balloons. BBQ cookoff, scarecrow contest, pancake breakfast, 5K, petting zoo, parade, car & motorcycle show, tractor pull, children’s corner, petting zoo, inflatables and more.
Bethel College Fall Festival – Newton, KS – October 10, 2015
The Saturday fall festival is preceded by Taste of Newton on Thursday, special events on Friday, and followed by the final performance of the fall fest stage production on Sunday. Fest has children’s activities, sports events, food, music and more.
Tallgrass Film Festival – October 14-18, 2015
It is the largest independent film festival in Kansas. Flavorwire called it one of the top ten Best-Under-The-Radar Film Festivals in America. Attendance is approximately 12,000.
Haysville Fall Festival – Haysville, KS – October 16-18, 2015
Maple Leaf Festival – Baldwin City, KS – October 17-18, 2015
An annual community event on the third weekend in October since 1958. Parade with floats, marching bands and antique cars. Craft sale, quilt show, rides and more.
Neewollah – Independence, KS – October 23-31, 2015
Pageant, parades, marching band contest, carnival, medallion hunt, chili cook-off, Damn Yankees musical, 5/10K & fun run/walk, and more.
Arkalah Fall Festival – Arkansas City, Kansas – October 28-31, 2015
84th annual event. Carnival, parade, street games, food vendors, Queen Alalah and Little Mr. & Miss Arkalalah, and more.
Kansas International Film Festival – Overland Park – Nov 6-12, 2015
15th annual event. Early bird passes are $50. Regular price is $60. A limited number of individual tickets also available. Held at the Glenwood Arts Theatre.
