Enjoy the food and fun at one of these fall festivals in Montana. Don’t underestimate the power of a select number of festivals. You only need one good party to create a lifetime of memories. Find weekend things to do in September and October. And after you have indulged in Oktoberfest in Montana, you’ll be ready for anything!

Ennis on the Madison Fly Fishing Festival – Ennis, MT – Sept 2-3, 2016
More than fly fishing with local musicians and great local cuisine.
Crown Guitar Workshop & Festival – Bigfork – Aug 28 – Sept 4, 2016
Workshops by day and exciting musicians by night. This years headliners include Jim Messina, Lee Ritenour, Dweezil Zappa and many many more.
Belgrade Fall Festival – Sept 9, 2016
Wild Fest – Great Falls, MT – Sept 9-10, 2016
Another event at Giant Springs State Park for a weekend of live music, hiking, family fun, food, and presentations.
Boulder Music & Art Festival – Boulder, MT – September 11-12, 2016
Live local music, artists’ creations. Free admission. Always the first full weekend in September after Labor Day.
Chokecherry Festival – Lewiston, MT – September 10, 2016
26th anniversary event. Held in the Chokecherry Capitol of Montana and attended by more than 4,000. A chokecherry is a small, maroon-colored fruit that grows wild in Montana.
Montana Dragon Boat Festival – Kalispell, MT – September 10-11, 2016
Join a team at Volunteer Park at Flathead County Park. Lots of vendors, activities, and exciting Dragon Boats.
Havre Festival Days – Sept 16-18, 2016
Flathead Celtic Festival – Kalispell – Sept 17, 2016
Lots of music, athletics, wares, food, dancing and Celtic cultural heritage. Enjoy bagpipes, childrens games, and learn about Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany and more.
Montana Book Festival – Missoula, MT – Sept 21-25, 2016
Activities include readings, author signings, panels, workshops, a youth festival, special events, exhibits, and a book fair.
Montana Fall Brewers Festival – Missoula – September 23, 2016
Friday evening from 4 to 9 PM.
Townsend Fall Fest – Townsend, MT – Sept 30 – October 2, 2016
Friday evening is music, beer and brats. Oktoberfest, arts & crafts, food vendors. Saturday parade; Sunday car show.
HarvestFest – Billings – October 8, 2016
NILE Lou Taubert Cattle Drive and Parade, pumpkin pie baking contest, Merchant Gift Basket Raffle, live entertainment, vendors and more. Attended by more than 5,000.

Germanfest – Missoula, MT – September 13, 2015
A free German festival in Caras Park. Traditional food, beer, music, folk dancing, chicken dance, keg tapping, commemorative steins and kids activities.
Haywire Made in Montana Festival – Sept 18-19, 2015
Flamenco Montana Festival – Sept 16-20, 2015
McIntosh Apple Day – Hamilton, MT – October 3, 2015
Bake sale, arts & crafts, food and produce from the Hamilton Farmers Market. It is followed by Apple Night, a hard cider fest with local food, cider and music.
