Kalona Fall Festival – Kalona, IA – September 23-24, 2016
Adult admission is $5 and kids ages 7-12 is $2. Food, entertainment, children’s activities including pony rides. There is also demonstrations, wine sampling, chainsaw sculptures, antique show and arts & crafts.
Taste of Dysart Fall Festival – Dysart, Iowa – September 24, 2016
Latino Heritage Festival – Des Moines – Sept 24-25, 2016
One of the largest ethnic events in the state of Iowa celebrates the Latino community with live music, cultural booths and children’s activities.
Octagon Art Festival – Ames, IA – Sept 25, 2016
An outdoor event in the Main Street Cultural District with free admission to original artwork featuring visual arts, children’s art areas and performing arts.

FRY fest – Iowa City, IA – September 4, 2015
Labor Day Celebration – Graettinger, IA – September 7, 2015
108th annual event to celebrate Labor Day includes antique tractor pull, flower show, parade, 5K, coed softball and volleyball tournament.
Maximum Ames Music Festival – Ames, IA – September 10-13, 2015
Lineup includes the Mountain Goats, Grandmaster Flash, and more.
ARTapalooza – Cedar Falls – Sept 12, 2015
A fine art show on the streets and sidewalks of the downtown area.
Arboretum Fall Harvest Festival – Waterloo – Sept 13, 2015
17th annual event. Scarecrow contest, prairie village with demonstrations, live entertainment, crafts, food, car show, children’s activities and more. Admission is $10 per car.
National Cattle Congress Fair – Waterloo, IA – September 17-20, 2015
Visit the entertainment capital of Eastern Iowa.
Beaverdale Fall Festival – Beaverdale, IA – September 18-19, 2015
Brew Ha Ha – Davenport, IA – September 19, 2015
World Food & Music Festival – Sept 18-20, 2015
Features foods from around the world. Entrees are $5 or less and tastes are $1. There will also be live music and cooking demonstrations. Admission is free.
Tri City BBQ Fest – Sept 18-19, 2015
2nd annual event. A battle of brisket, bands and beer from three cities: Omaha, Des Moines and Sioux City. BBQ competition, beer tent, carnival games & rides, car show, three historical tours, petting zoo, shopping and more.

Madison County Covered Bridge Festival – Winterset, Iowa – October 10-11, 2015
The world famous “Bridges of Madison County” are on display for this 46th annual fall festival. Enjoy the changing colors as well as live music, car show, spelling bee, craft demonstrations, food and more the second full weekend in October.

Iowa’s Premier Beer, Wine and Food Festival – Des Moines – Nov 13-14, 2015
Gourmet pairing dinners, culinary demonstrations and . One day general admission passes to the expo are $20-30. Held at the Iowa Events Center. Parking at the Events Center is $7 per car although there are local garages and metered street parking nearby.
