Fall Iowa Festivals
It shouldn’t surprise you that there are so many fall festivals in Iowa. Farming is an important aspect of life there. So when you have finished celebrating Oktoberfest in Iowa, check out these September and October festivals in 2016:

FRY fest – Iowa City, IA – September 4, 2015
Labor Day Celebration – Graettinger, IA – September 7, 2015
108th annual event to celebrate Labor Day includes antique tractor pull, flower show, parade, 5K, coed softball and volleyball tournament.
Maximum Ames Music Festival – Ames, IA – September 10-13, 2015
Lineup includes the Mountain Goats, Grandmaster Flash, and more.
ARTapalooza – Cedar Falls – Sept 12, 2015
A fine art show on the streets and sidewalks of the downtown area.
Arboretum Fall Harvest Festival – Waterloo – Sept 13, 2015
17th annual event. Scarecrow contest, prairie village with demonstrations, live entertainment, crafts, food, car show, children’s activities and more. Admission is $10 per car.
National Cattle Congress Fair – Waterloo, IA – September 17-20, 2015
Visit the entertainment capital of Eastern Iowa.
Beaverdale Fall Festival – Beaverdale, IA – September 18-19, 2015
Brew Ha Ha – Davenport, IA – September 19, 2015
World Food & Music Festival – Sept 18-20, 2015
Features foods from around the world. Entrees are $5 or less and tastes are $1. There will also be live music and cooking demonstrations. Admission is free.
Tri City BBQ Fest – Sept 18-19, 2015
2nd annual event. A battle of brisket, bands and beer from three cities: Omaha, Des Moines and Sioux City. BBQ competition, beer tent, carnival games & rides, car show, three historical tours, petting zoo, shopping and more.
Oktemberfest – Marshalltown, IA – September 24-27, 2015
Kalona Fall Festival – Kalona, IA – September 25-26, 2015
Adult admission is $5 and kids ages 7-12 is $2. Food, entertainment, children’s activities including pony rides. There is also demonstrations, wine sampling, chainsaw sculptures, antique show and arts & crafts.
Junk-Tober Fest – October 2-3, 2015
Shop for retro, vintage, reclaimed and redesigned items while outdoors in Iowa’s Antique City.
Ely Fall Festival – Ely, IA – October 2-3, 2015
7th anniversary celebration. Farmers’ Market, hayrack rides, car show, fireworks, street dance, live music and more. Sports and contests include beanbag and kickball tournaments as well as a 5K run and 1 mile fun run/walk. Kids activities include inflatables, pumpkin decorating and more.
Anamosa Pumpkinfest – Anamosa, IA – October 3, 2015
Fall & Leaf Arts and Crafts Festivals – October 3-4, 2015
Held at Triangle Park in McGregor at the Landing Events Center with live music, handcrafted arts and festival food.
Scenic Drive Festival – Keosauqua, IA – October 10-11, 2015
Held on the second weekend in October during the peak of the fall foliage season. The largest event of the year in this scenic Southeast Iowa community. Arts & crafts, flea market, car show, tractor show, parade, fun run and more.
Madison County Covered Bridge Festival – Winterset, Iowa – October 10-11, 2015
The world famous “Bridges of Madison County” are on display for this 46th annual fall festival. Enjoy the changing colors as well as live music, car show, spelling bee, craft demonstrations, food and more the second full weekend in October.
Art on the Prairie – Perry, IA – Nov 14-15, 2015
An art festival showcasing 100+ Iowa artists, musicians and writers in the Cultural and Historic District.
Iowa’s Premier Beer, Wine and Food Festival – Des Moines – Nov 13-14, 2015
Gourmet pairing dinners, culinary demonstrations and . One day general admission passes to the expo are $20-30. Held at the Iowa Events Center. Parking at the Events Center is $7 per car although there are local garages and metered street parking nearby.
