Our 2013 list of fall festivals in West Virginia.  You must be able to party in order to live in West Virginia.  It’s practically a requirement for admission into the state.  So I ask that you quickly recover from your West Virginia Oktoberfest celebrations.  Because your presence is requested at these September and October festivals:

September 2013:

Leaf Peepers Festival – Davis, WV – September 27-29, 2013
Nicholas County Potato Festival – Summersville, WV – September 6-7, 2013
Pickin’ in the Panhandle - Inwood, WV – September 6-8, 2013
Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival – Shenandoah Junction, WV – September 27-29, 2013
Roadkill Cookoff & Autumn Harvest Festival – Marlington, WV – September 28, 2013
Burnsville Harvest Festival – Burnsville, WV – September 19-21, 2013
Barboursville Fall Fest – Barboursville, WV – September 12-14, 2013
Elizabethtown Festival – held at former West Virginia Penitentiary – Moundsville

The Elizabethtown festival is an annual old fashioned 1800′s type community festival.  Free admission get the whole family lots of fun and entertainment.  It runs on September 14-15, 2013.  Expect to participate in the best apple pie cooking contest or the best cookie making contest.  Kids can join in the pie eating contest.  The festival has farm animals, a kids tractor pull, and various crafts and learning experiences.  Crafts include basket making, woodcarving, candles, jewelry, pottery, and cooking.

Mountain State Forest Festival – Elkins, WV – September 28 – October 6, 2013
National Trailfest – Gilbert, WV – October 10-14, 2013
