Fall West Virginia Festivals in 2016
You must be able to party in order to live in WV. It’s practically a requirement for admission into the state. So I know you know what to do with our list of fall festivals. Not enough fun here? Don’t forget to enjoy a West Virginia Oktoberfest as well. Between the two lists, there are plenty of things to do in the state from Wheeling and Morgantown to Charleston.

Jackson’s Mill Jubilee – Weston, WV – Sept 2-4, 2016
A celebration of Appalachian heritage, bluegrass music, Native American dancing and more.
West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival – Clarksburg, WV – September 2-4, 2016. Celebrate its 37th anniversary. More than 100,000 attend this cultural heritage event featuring delectable food, music, live entertainment, contests, and exhibits. The downtown streets of Clarksburg will be packed.
Culturefest – Pipestem, WV – September 8-11, 2016. An annual event held at the Appalachian south Folklore Center in Pipestem. It features world music, dance, art, workshops, camping, parade and after hours cabaret.
Nicholas County Potato Festival – Summersville, WV – September 9-10, 2016
47th annual event honoring the potato with music, food, games and fun.
Burnsville Harvest Festival – Burnsville, WV – September 9-10, 2016. Full of live music bands and craft booths.

Mothman Festival – Point Pleasant – Sept 17-18, 2016
Celebrating Mothman’s 50th birthday and the events 15th anniversary.
Harvest Moon Arts & Crafts Festival – Parkersburg, WV – September 17-18, 2016. Celebrating 53 years of live music, artists, demonstrations, exhibits, live entertainment, food, crafts, apple butter and kids inflatable. Held at City Park, 1920 Park Avenue.
Roadkill Cookoff & Autumn Harvest Festival – Marlington, WV – September 23-24, 2016. Frequently covered by the Food Network, Travel Channel and other is this exciting annual event. Offers exotic dishes like squirrel gravy over biscuits or teriyaki-marinated bear.
Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival – Shenandoah Junction, WV – September 23-25, 2016. Fine arts, crafts, music, wine and more fun with 200 artisans and bluegrass music. Located at Sam Michael’s Park, Shenandoah Junction.

Autumnfest – Princeton, WV – September 24, 2016. Celebrate with thousands in downtown Princeton. Great music, crafts, art, kids activities, and hundreds of booths.
Leaf Peepers Festival – Davis, WV – September 25-27, 2016
Buckwheat Festival – Kingwood, WV – September 29 – October 2, 2016. Join the folks in Preston County for their 75th annual event. Featured are food, carnival, arts & crafts, and live music.
Burlington United Methodist Family Services Apple Harvest Festival – Burlington, WV – October 1-2, 2016. Features include continuous all day live music, flea market, arts and crafts show, and food court.
Mountain State Forest Festival – Elkins, WV – October 1-9, 2016. Celebrate nearly 80 years of festival fun in WV. It features headline live music concerts, lumberjack competitions, wood exhibits, arts and crafts, carnival rides, and great food choices.
West Virginia Pumpkin Festival – Milton, WV – October 6-9, 2016. Celebrating autumn and the harvest since 1986. More than 50,000 people attend annually. Parade, 5K run, crafts, craftsmen demonstrations and live music. Admission is $7 and free for children 5 and under. Held annually at the WV Pumpkin Park in Milton.
Salem Apple Butter Festival – Salem, WV – October 6-9, 2016
32nd annual event with old fashioned apple butter and family oriented activities.
Hatfield & McCoy Trail Fest – Gilbert, WV – October 6-10, 2016. One of the premier UTV, ATV and Dirtbike riding events in the country. Poker run, mud pit mud run, costume parade, stunt show, scavenger hunt, fireworks and more. Located at the Larry Joe Harless Community Center.
Oglebayfest – Wheeling, WV – October 7-9, 2016. Started in 1978 on the 50th anniversary of Oglebay. Parade, fireworks over Schenk Lake, Ohio County Country Fair and West Virginia Pony Pull Championship. An annual event at the Oglebay Resort & Conference Center.
Apple Butter Festival – Berkeley Springs, WV – October 8-9, 2016. Held annually since 1974. Saturday morning parade kicks off a weekend of country food, arts & crafts, games & contests. Spicy apple butter is stirred in giant copper kettles in the square.
West Virginia Black Walnut Festival – Spencer, WV – October 13-16, 2016. Activities include a flea market, flower show, food court, car show, band competition, grand parade, live music, and livestock show. Held throughout downtown Spencer.
Bridge Day Festival – Fayetteville, WV – October 15, 2016. Rappelling, skydiving and more into the New River Gorge. More than 80,000 come to watch the BASE jumpers and other events. The bridge sits 800 feet above the gorge below.
Mountain State Apple Harvest Festival – Martinsburg, WV – October 21-23, 2016. Features include pie baking contest, grand parade on Saturday, apple displays, and art vendors. Good times to be had by all.
C-K AutumnFest – Ceredo and Kenova, WV – October 28-29, 2016. Scavenger hunt, pumpkin carving contest, bake-off, food and more. Teen and Teen Queen Pageant new for 2015. Join some 30,000 visitors to the Pumpkin House, a West Virginia favorite.

Elizabethtown Festival – Moundsville, WV – September 12-13, 2015. An annual event held at the former West Virginia Penitentiary. The Elizabethtown festival is an annual old fashioned 1800’s type community festival. Free admission get the whole family lots of fun and entertainment. Expect to participate in the best apple pie cooking contest or the best cookie making contest. Kids can join in the pie eating contest. The festival has farm animals, a kids tractor pull, and various crafts and learning experiences. Crafts include basket making, woodcarving, candles, jewelry, pottery, and cooking.
Barboursville Fall Fest – Barboursville, WV – September 18-19, 2015
Southern West Virginia Italian Festival – Bluefield – October 3, 2015. 20th annual event held at the Bluefield City Auditorium. Homemade Italian sauce and meatballs, live music and Italian fun.
