Fall Missouri Festivals

There’s a number of fall and harvest festivals on this list of Missouri fall festivals.  But it’s the World Series of Barbecue that I have my eye on at this time.  World class bbq in Kansas City?  Sign me up!  Especially after having indulged in Oktoberfest in Missouri.

Kansas City Irish Fest – Kansas City, MO – Sept 2-4, 2016
One of the three largest irish festivals in the nation. 30 Celtic rock and traditional Irish bands on 7 stages. Massive children’s area.

Japanese Festival – St Louis, MO – Sept 3-5, 2016
One of the oldest and largest festivals of its kind in America. Celebrates the culture, history and people of Japan. Produced by the Missouri Botanical Garden.

Seymour Apple Festival – Seymour, MO – Sept 8-10, 2016
Join over 15,000 visitors to this free event which include a parade, music, 5K run, food, over 100 craft and various vendors, plus apple contests, auction, and so much more.

Eureka Days – Eureka, MO – Sept 8-10, 2016
Lots of carnival rides, children’s activities, over 80 vendors, a beer garden, and a parade.  Friday night has a show by Griffin and the Gargoyles while Saturday ends with fireworks.

Saint Louis Art Fair – Clayton, MO – Sept 9-11, 2016

Dancefestopia – Kansas City, MO – September 9-11, 2016
Held at La Benite Riverfront Park this event features non stop music entertainment on 3 stages.  Also canoe trips, helicopter rides, fireworks, art, camping, and showers plus over 35 headliner performers.

Ozark Celebration Festival – Springfield – September 9-11, 2016
Explore the area’s culture and heritage with four stages of live music and dancing, storytelling, artists, kid’s area and more.

Calhoun Colt Show – Sept 9-11, 2016
It features 3 days of events from art, farm, orchard, flowers, baby show, car show, pet parade and more.  Also Equine events, beer garden, carnival, church services, contests, night time music and lots of vendors.

Jesse James Festival – Kearney – September 9-11 & 15-18, 2016
Carnival, barbeque cook-out, craft fair, fishing tournament, demolition derby, rodeo, mud volleyball, 5K/10K, Little Miss and Mr. contest and more.

Japanese Fall Festival – Springfield, MO – September 9-11, 2016
Enjoy Japanese food and concessions.  Explore crafts and arts.  They have souvenir tents, children’s activity area, tea cafe, folk dance, and live music performances.

Kansas City Chalk & Walk Festival – Sept 10-11, 2016
A multi-cultural celebration of the arts and Crown Center Square. Street performers, paintings, workshops, Children’s Creative Corridor. Free admission.

Concordia Fall Festival – Concordia, MO – September 6-10, 2016
Thousands visit this themed festival every year held the first week after Labor Day. Queen contest, three parades, bake sales and contests. Carousel, ferris wheel, giant slide and other rides.

Brasil Day STL – St Louis – Sept 10, 2016
Brazilian Street Festival.  Open from 12pm until 9pm.  Features food, performing arts, music, and cultural experiences.

Country Days – Bolivar, MO – Sept 10, 2016
Fun includes the annual car show plus a kiddie tractor pull, kids games, live entertainment, street performances and so much more.

Lou Fest – St. Louis, MO – September 10-11, 2016
A music festival. Shop Market Square or enjoy family friendly activities at LouKidz including face painting, crafts and more.

Fall into Arts Festival – Kennett, MO – Sept 10-11, 2016
Located in downtown Kennett the festival has art, food vendors, competitions, art related games, live theater and more.

National Harvest Festival – Branson, MO – Wed thru Sun, Sept 14 – October 29, 2016
An annual event featuring over 125 visiting craftsmen, a barn dance, and Buck Taylor’s Cowboy Emporium.  Don’t miss the Wild West Show inspired by Buffalo Bill’s show.  See Kent Rollins demonstrate chuck wagon cooking along with cowboy stories, poetry and humor.  Also enjoy Chris Isaacs tales of cowboy life.  If you are into horses then see trainer Fred Woehl beautiful wild mustangs.  This is a must see event.

Hootin an Hollarin Festival – Gainesville, MO – Sept 15-17, 2016
They bill themselves as a “hand clapping, toe-tapping good time” with native crafts, dancing, and music.

Humansville Fall Festival – Sept 15-17, 2016
Features include a parade, live entertainment, talented artisans, and fun carnival rides.

Lake of the Ozarks BikeFest – Sept 15-18, 2016
Activities include over 200 bars and restaurants, 50 live music events, vending areas, motorcycle ride tours, and tons of bike builders demonstrating their skills.  One of the countries great motorcycle gatherings.

Maysville Country Harvest – Maysville, MO – September 15-17, 2016

Great Forest Park Balloon Race – Sept 16-17, 2016
44th annual event. The oldest and most well-attended FREE Hot-Air Balloon Event in the World.

Augusta’s Annual Harvest Festival – Augusta, MO – September 16-17, 2016
Have fun with a live concert, gourmet picnic, wine sampling and fine arts.

Marionville Applefest – Marionville, MO – Sept 16-17, 2016
Typically features a parade, garage sale, pageant, car show, lots of various vendors, food, contests and lots more fun activities for the family.

Celebrate St. Peters – St. Peters, MO – Sept 16-17, 2016
Enjoy the carnival, vendors, food, live entertainment, rides, fireworks, and game booth.

Taste of St. Louis – Chesterfield, MO – Sept 16-18, 2016

Clark County Mule Festival – Kahoka, MO – September 16-18, 2016

Greentree Festival – Kirkwood – September 16-18, 2016
Annual festival in Kirkwood Park. Parade, arts & crafts, book fair, car show, sailboat regatta, Kids’ dog show and canine frisbee contest.

Blue Springs Fall Festival – Blue Springs, MO – September 16-18, 2016
Feast on Turkey Legs, Funnel Cakes, BBQ Sunday, Kettle Corn, Shaved Ice and fresh lemonade. Parade and two stages of entertainment.

Pyromania – Eureka, MO – Sept 17, 2016
Lots of live music, a car show, K-9 demonstrations, a huge corn maze and a giant fireworks show.

Wilder Days – Mansfield, MO – Sept 17, 2016
Celebration commemorating the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder who authored the Little House books on American pioneer life.  Complete with fiddle music, and lots of vendors.

Crossroads Crush Art, Music and Spirit Festival – Cameron, MO – Sept 17, 2016
Held in downtown Cameron it features local musicians, local artists, craftsmen, great food, and plenty of samplings of spirits, brews, and wines.

Cider Days – Springfield, MO – Sept 17-18, 2016
Held outdoors this event includes over 100 artists and crafters, a free children’s activity area, scarecrow village, food, and various live performance stages.

Black Walnut Festival – Stockton, MO – Sept 21-24, 2016

HOBA Bluegrass Festival – Sept 22-24, 2016
Three days bringing bluegrass music to life with plenty of camping and facilities.

St. Louis Scottish Games – Chesterfield, MO – Sept 23-24, 2016
Masters World Championships featuring more than 150 highland athletes from around the world. Bagpipes, celtic rock and folk music, crafts, goods, food, drink, highland dancing, sheepdog trials, sword fighting, birds of prey, kids activities and much more.

Burg Fest – Warrensburg, MO – September 23-24, 2016
A car show, KCBS BBQ contest and entertainment on the Main Stage. Craft & food vendors, live music and home brew competition.

Q in the Lou – St Louis, MO – Sept 23-25, 2016
A BBQ pitmasters event featuring legendary pitmasters, great bbq, cooking tutorials, cooking expo, and live local music.

Roots N Blues N BBQ Festival – Columbia, MO – September 30 – October 2, 2016
American Blues Scenes Magazine called it one of the most prominent festivals in the country. Over 40 musicians representing genres of blues, roots, gospel, folk, country, and soul. BBQ, 1/2 marathon and 10K and more at Stephens Lake Park. Started in 2007.

New Madrid Fall Festival – New Madrid, MO – October 1, 2016
Festival is held in historic downtown New Madrid, Missouri.  There will be a youth fishing rodeo, beauty pageant, car truck & bike show, washers tournament, petting zoo, bouncy house, vendors, food, and of course the big catfish weigh-in.

Pumpkin Daze – Republic, MO – October 1, 2016
Come to downtown Republic and view the giant 400 pound pumpkins, meet the growers, shop the craft booths, enjoy the foods such as hamburgers, ice cream, hot dogs, and cotton candy.  A fun event for all.

Versailles Olde Tyme Apple Festival – Versailles, MO – October 1, 2016
Another downtown event with pancake breakfast, apple pie baking, sock hop dance, parade, tractor displays, live band entertainment, live lay at Royal Theatre, fun zone for the kids and even a golf tournament.

Jefferson City Fall Festival – Jefferson City, MO – October 1, 2016

Applefest Celebration – Weston – October 1-2, 2016
28th annual event. Parade, arts & crafts, apple dumplings and other food products from local churches. Children’s activities include pumpkin painting, pony rides, face painting and carnival games. Adult admission is $1. Kids under 15 are free. Free parking.

Missouri Town 1855 Fall Festival – Blue Springs, MO – October 1-2, 2016
1850’s music, dance, buggy rides, hot spiced sider, arts & carfts, hay rides and children’s game. 41st year.

Maple Leaf Festival – Carthage – October 1-29, 2016
50th annual event with 80,000+ visitors. Parade, 5K/10K, pageants, dog show, lip-syncing competition and more. Started as a Marching Band competition in the 1960s.

O’Fallon Fall Fest – O’Fallon, MO – Oct 7-8, 2016
Friday night street dance to rock & roll hits. Saturday is the festival with arts & crafts, festival food, 5K & 10K runs (with costume contests!), and more.

Festival of Fiber Arts – Camdenton – October 8, 2016
11th annual event in the Lake of the Ozarks area. Workshop, fiber arts display and vendor booths. Free admission. Held at Community Christian Church and sponsored by the Lake Area Fiber Artists.

Florissant Old Town Fall Festival – Florissant, MO – October 9, 2016

Arcadia Valley Mountain Fall Festival & Music Festival – Arcadia Valley, MO – October 14-16, 2016
A twice yearly celebration of old time music with bluegrass, mountain and americana. The parade is the longest running parade in the state of Missouri at 87 years and counting. Free admission.

Missouri Day Festival – Trenton – October 14-16, 2016
Over 15,000 attend the largest Trenton festival of the year. Started in 1984, it honors the history of Missouri. Parade, car show and marching band festival.

Pumpkins & Mums Fall Festival – Excelsior Springs, MO – October 15, 2016
Lots of crafters, vendors, kids activities, pumpkin painting, carnival games and rides, pony rides, petting zoo, and of course great food.

Louisiana Country Colorfest – Louisiana, MO – October 15-16, 2016
Many activities to watch or participate in at this Colorfest.  Watch the fireman’s challenge.  Enjoy the Baby Show or Pageants like the Jr. Miss, Little Mr. & Miss, and Miss Louisiana show.  Also they host a Louisana’s Got Talent contest.  Oh did we mention the Car Show and the separate Motorcycle Show.  

Deutsch Country Days – Marthasville, MO – October 15-16, 2016
35th Annual German Living Historic Festival on Historic Luxenhaus Farm.

Dogtober Fest – Blue Springs, MO – October 16, 2016
Free admission to this annual event with trail dog-walks, contests and games, workshops, demonstrations, and many more canine events.  Donations welcomed.

Kimmswick Applebutter Festival – Kimmswick, MO – October 29-30, 2016
More than 100,000 visitors annually. Help stir the apple butter. Live musical entertainment in the park. More than 500 food, drink and craft vendors line the streets. For kids, a miniature train, petting zoo and pony rides.

Citizen Jane Film Festival – Columbia – Nov 3-6, 2016
A diverse festival featuring the works of female filmmakers. Premiered in 2008.

St. Louis International Film Festival – St. Louis, MO – Nov 3-13, 2016
24th annual event with more than 200 screenings and programs.

Wingapalooza – Springfield, MO – Nov 5, 2016

Veterans Homecoming Week – Branson, MO – Nov 5-11, 2016
A week long celebration of our veterans complete with parade, live music, vendor village, tributes, and so much more.

  1. October 5 in historic downtown New Madrid, Missouri. The 3rd Annual New Madrid Fall Festival will be held in conjunction with the Bass Pro Shop’s Big Cat Quest Tournament as well as the Rendezvous On The River (a pre-1840 mountain man event). There will be a youth fishing rodeo, beauty pageant, car truck & bike show, washers tournament, petting zoo, bouncy house, vendors, food, and of course the big catfish weigh-in. New vendors and events added weekly, huge event. For more information call 877-748-5300. Craft vendors still accepted $15 for 10×10 outdoor space.
