Fall South Carolina Festivals in 2016

Celebrate fall at one of the fabulous seafood and music festivals in SC.  Shrimp, oysters and blue crab await as each has a festival dedicated to it.  And jazz, blues and bluegrass can all be heard during the month among other enthusiasts at a music festival.  So move past Oktoberfest in South Carolina. We currently have dates for ten things to do in SC in the autumn but we are tracking another 10+ events and will update their information when we have found them. If you know of any other opportunities for fall fun near Charleston, Columbia or Greenville, please let us know!

Lowcountry Jazz Festival – North Charleston -Sept 2-4, 2016
Jazzing with a purpose at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center.

Aiken’s Makin’ – Aiken, SC – September 9-10, 2016
40th annual event. A 2 day arts & crafts show.

Euphoria – Greenville – Sept 22-25, 2016
Food trucks, craft brews and distilleries take over the outfield of the Greenville Drive’s Fluor Field.

Okra Strut Festival – Irmo, SC – Sept 23-24, 2016
Features a Friday evening street dance, a Saturday morning parade, arts & crafts, amusements & rides, live bands and festival food.  Attendance is typically between 55,000-60,000 annually.

Atalaya Arts & Crafts Festival – Sept 23-25, 2016
40th annual event.

Taste of Charleston – Sept 23-25, 2016
Iron chef competition, Sweet & Southern on Charleston Harbor, and Taste of Charleston. Taste of Charleston will be the 35th anniversary event at the Historic Boone Hall Plantation. Fifty restaurants serve samples. Beer tasting tent and live music as well.

Golden Leaf Festival – Mullins, SC – Sept 24, 2016
A BBQ cook-off, car show, craft show and more.

Irish Italian International Festival – Myrtle Beach, SC – Sept 24, 2016
Italian food, two stages of live entertainment, street performers, art & craft vendors, dance groups and children’s area.

Beaufort Shrimp Festival – Beaufort, SC – Sept 30 – October 1, 2016
Free admission. Food and drink tickets are $1 each. Items cost between 2 and 7 tickets each. Arts & crafts market. Live musical entertainment, restaurant competition with best shrimp dish, shrimp race, run/walk and more.

Gopher Hill Festival – Ridgeland, SC – Sept 29 – October 1, 2016

Clio Cotton Festival – Clio, South Carolina – October 1, 2016

Gaston Collard & BBQ Festival – Gaston, SC – October 1, 2016
Barbecue competition, parade, live entertainment, kids’ rides.

Balloons Over Anderson – Anderson, SC – October 7-9, 2016

Fall for Greenville – Greenville, SC – October 7-9, 2016
Six stages of live entertainment and food from 40 restaurants along 8 blocks of Main Street.

Lee County Cotton Festival, Bishopville, SC – October 8, 2016
Annual celebration the second weekend of October.

South Carolina State Fair – Columbia, SC – October 12-23, 2016
Equine events, Heritage Village, crafting shows, prince & princess pageant, fair food, entertainment and more.

South Carolina Jazz Festival – Cheraw, SC – October 14-16, 2016
Over 20 regional musical artists from the Carolinas will perform in the hometown of jazz legend Dizzy Gillespie.

Habersham Harvest Festival – Beaufort, SC – October 22-23, 2016.  A hometown festival for all ages.

SC Pecan Festival – Florence, SC – November 5, 2016
Held annually on the first Saturday in November. Hosted by the Florence Downtown Development Corporation and The City of Florence. Over 50,000 attend for the live entertainment, food & craft vendors, rides, antique tractor show, car show, competitions, 5K/10K/half marathon runs, half metric century bike ride and more.

Pendleton Fall Harvest Festival – Pendleton, SC – October 24, 2015
This historic Pendleton South Carolina festival will be held on Saturday from 10 until 5. It will feature great food, wonderful entertainment, talented crafters, and old fashioned games for the kids. When you arrive in Pendleton, you will be greeted by the over 100 Scarecrows who are participating in the annual Scarecrow Contest.

Bluffton Arts & Seafood Festival – Bluffton, SC – October 11-18, 2015
Where Fine Art & the Bounty of the Sea Come Together. 11th annual event. A week of activities featuring Southern hospitality, culture, seafood, local cuisine and art. Streetfest has juried fine art show, food, music and live entertainment.

Little River Shrimp Fest – Little River, SC – October 10-11, 2015.  Join about 22,000 visitors for a shrimp cook out, kids activities, over 150 vendors, arts and crafts, fresh local seafood, and entertainment.  Held at the Little River Waterfront, 4460 Mineola Ave., Little River, SC.

South Carolina Pride Festival and Parade – Columbia, SC – October 24, 2015. 

St Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church Fall Festival – Summerville, SC – October 24, 2015
Annual Fall Family Festival on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 10am – 4pm. This community event will be held at 11001 Dorchester Road in Summerville, SC and includes free admission and free parking. During the festival, you may enjoy ham and cheese biscuits in the morning, a car show, arts & crafts, vendors, a Christmas shop, a pet fair, a book sale, food trucks, baked goods, games for all ages, pony rides from 10am-1pm, a flight simulator, free entertainment, a silent auction, a white elephant sale and so much more.
With something for everyone, the Fall Family Festival is a great way to enjoy time with friends and family and meet others in the community. Please no pets allowed.
