Fall Pennsylvania Festivals in 2016
We currently have listed dates for more than 30 fall festivals in PA in 2016. That is more than we have in most other states. So if you live in or near Philadelphia or Pittsburgh, you are in luck. There is probably a number of things to do this autumn that you can pack into your calendar. If you don’t find the right food or beer festival for your taste on this list, don’t forget to also check out the celebrations of Oktoberfest in PA. There are now quite a few German festival options on that list as well. If we are missing any festivals, please let us know!

Green-Dreher-Sterling Fair – Newfoundland, PA – August 26 – September 4, 2016. This is an amazing event with all types of activities and live entertainment. Also see a Truck Pull, Tractor Pull, Scarecrow Contest, and Turkey calling contest.
Lancaster Craft Beer Fest – Lancaster, PA – August 27, 2016
4th annual event. The beer garden is the block surrounding Lancaster Square and Binns Park. 30+ breweries and 70+ beers. Food court, vendors and live music.
Great Allentown Fair – Allentown, PA – August 30 – September 5, 2016
KISS will be there on September 1st for its Summer American “Freedom to Rock” Tour and Meghan Trainor will be there on September 3rd for “The Untouchable Tour.”
Great Stoneboro Fair – Aug 31 – September 5, 2016
Cornstock Festival – Tunkhannock, pA – September 2-4, 2016
A three day celebration of acoustic and roots music set in Northeast Pennsylvania.
La Festa Italiana – Scranton, PA – September 2-5, 2016
A celebration of culture and cuisine over Labor Day Weekend.
Taste of Hamburg-er – Hamburg, PA – September 3, 2016
13th annual event. Burger stands, other grub, live music, arts/crafts, and competitions including burger eating contests, mooing contest, Dine and Dash Burgers and Trail Race and more.
Made in America Music Festival – Philadelphia, PA – September 3-4, 2016. One of the largest music festivals and event in the country. Features about 100 live musicians on stages. Held in downtown Philadelphia along Ben Franklin Parkway.
Pocono Garlic Festival – Shawnee, PA – September 3-4, 2016
35 garlic stations of food to try at Shawnee Mountain Ski Area. 10 AM to 6 PM. Advance ticket sales are from May until early September. Arts & crafts, entertainment, garlic eating contest, chopped garlic cooking competition and children’s area with petting zoo and more entertainment.
Kipona Festival – Harrisburg, PA – September 3-5, 2016
100th Anniversary of Kipona at RiverFront Park & City Island. Native American Pow Wow, Festival of India, live music, fireworks, food trucks, and more.
Polish American Festival – Doylestown, PA – Sept 3-5 & 10-11, 2016
The 51st annual festival runs from noon to 8 PM. Admission is $12 per person, which includes unlimited midway rides but not extreme rides. Crafter’s Village will have handmade items such as jewelry, quilts, dolls, toys, bags, children’s clothes and decorations. Polish and American food including Pierogi, Potato Placki, Grilled Kielbasa, and Golabki. Two stages of entertainment with live music, dancing and more.
Schuylkill Wine Festival – Hegins, PA – September 4, 2016
Local winery tasting, live entertainment, table decorating contest and more. Tickets are $12 (advanced) and $15 (gate). Admission includes wine tasting bracelet, glass, chance to win a wine basket
Hanover Chili Cook Off – September 4, 2016
A day of award winning chili and music raising funds for local charities.
West Alexander Fair – September 5-10, 2016
Chile Pepper Festival – Bowers, PA – September 9-10, 2016
21st annual event. Jalapeno eating contest, salsa contest, field excursion, live music and more. Admission by suggested donation.
Northern Appalachian Folk Festival – Indiana, PA – September 9-11, 2016
Dedicated to preserving the music, art and culture of the Northern Appalachian region. Kid’s Alley includes carnival games, arts & crafts, square dancing and more.
Hay Creek Apple Festival – Berks County, PA – September 9-11, 2016. Great family fun at the peak of apple harvesting time. Held at Historic Joanna Furnace off of Route 10.
Dauphin County Jazz and Wine Festival – September 9-11, 2016
10th anniversary at Fort Hunter Park. Weekend passes are $30 in advance and $40 at the door.
A Fair in the Park – Pittsburgh, PA – September 9-11, 2016
An annual contemporary art and craft festival in Mellon Park that has been running for nearly 50 years.
Hay Creek Festival – Berks County, PA – Sept 9-11, 2016
Enjoy the apple specialties and fall air at the peak harvest. Free admission and parking with donation requested.
Milton Harvest Festival – Milton, PA – September 9-17, 2016
A tradition since 1977. Parades, pageant, 28 mile bike race, scarecrow contests, 5K run, arts & crafts.
York Fair – York, PA – September 9-18, 2016
America’s first fair was held in the historic Old Town of York in 1765.
Haverford Music Festival – Havertown, PA – September 10, 2016
A family music festival that serves as the primary fundraiser for the Haverford Township Civic Council.
Steel City Big Pour – Pittsburgh, PA – September 10, 2016
Taste of Dormont – Dormont, PA – September 10, 2016
Sample foods from local restaurants and try PA wines and beers. Music from the Good Guys Duo. Hours are 5 – 9:30 PM. Tickets are $32.50 per person.
Pennsylvania Endless Mountains Fiber Festival – Harford, PA – September 10-11, 2016

Gettysburg Wine & Music Festival – Gettysburg, PA – September 10-11, 2016

Kennett Square Mushroom Festival – Kennett Square, PA – September 10-11, 2016
31st annual event in the Mushroom Capital of the World. Held on the weekend after Labor Day. Attendance is estimated at up to 100,000 guests.

New Bethlehem Peanut Butter Festival – New Bethlehem, PA – September 16-18, 2016

Peddler’s Village Scarecrow Festival – Lahaska, PA – September 17-18, 2016

Mount Pocono HarvestFest – Mount Pocono, PA – September 24, 2016
Food, crafts, children’s activities and entertainment at the Pocono Mountain Volunteer Fire Company Carnival Grounds.
Pippinfest – Fairfield, PA – September 24-25, 2016
Community yard sale on Saturday. Sunday has a drive-in car show, swap meet, quilt show, pottery display, food, music and more. Free admission and free parking.
Bloomsburg Fair – Bloomsburg, PA – September 24 – October 1, 2016
The 160th annual event will be one of the largest agricultural fairs on the east coast. Total attendance topped 400,000 in 2014. Livestock, antique tractor pull, carnival, horse racing, carriage rides and more.
Autumn Leaf Festival – Clarion, PA – September 24 – October 2, 2016. A local classic for over 60 Years. This is a 9 day internationally award winning festival that attracts over 500,000 people. Lots of fun things to do like a Kiddies Parade, Autorama, Parade, Junior Olympics, Tractor and Truck show, and did we mention lots of food and live entertainment.
