We just recently bought our first Qi wireless charging device to be able to power a compatible Galaxy smartphone which was too old to be repaired without a delay for them to order. It was going to be three days without my phone for it to be fixed but only 1 day to get a wireless charging pad and adapter for my phone from Amazon. And it was roughly the same price to do so. We were somewhat skeptical, since it seemed far too easy to solve the phone’s charging problems with a device not carried by either Walmart or Best Buy. But you know what? It works. Once we figured out that the battery adapter might come lose from the connection with the phone and needed to be taped in place, we have had zero problems with it. In fact, we just recently purchased a second wireless charging pad to work with an iPhone. We of course still have the wired chargers in case we need them, but our plans for the immediate future are to continue wireless charging.

The cost of these devices range in price from roughly $7.50 through Walmart to $49.99 or so online. If your phone is already compatible, there is no additional charge. For my Galaxy S5 (which is so old that Sprint no longer carries in store the parts to repair the battery port adapter that you plug the device into to recharge), there was an additional adapter that needed to be purchased and is taped in place next to the battery of your phone.
