Rockford Screamfest (not sure if still open), Machesney Park, IL (No longer open)
Psychosis Haunted House – best I’ve been to (Elgin)
Trail of Screams – bad
Karnival of Karnage – Belvidere fairgrounds – poor, no scare factor
Screamatorium – moved to Poplar Grove from S. Beloit – Horrible (at Verde Garden center)
Thanks Nicole! Very helpful.
Rockford Screamfest has been closed for over 7 years. It was a sad day for all when we closed down.
In Rockford there are a few more Haunted Houses in the area other than Karnival of Carnage, like Hopper Haunted House as well as Twisted Crypt who just had there first season. As far as I know more would like to open but some long forgotten Haunts left a bad taste in the fire chief’s mouth due to them trying to get around code. So it is harder for an attraction to open up in the Rockford Area.
